I had read of these ruins from the previous reviews that you see here on TA and had decided that this was exactly the type of site that we would like to go to. We were only staying three days in Cancun and did not want to commit the time traveling to Chichen Itza or Tulum. We made our way... more

The real reason we went to these ruins was to find a geocache on site. The area is pretty small but has several structures to check out. The price of admission was next to nothing. Upon arrival we weren't sure it was open as the workers were elsewhere, the box office is hidden and run down, and we were the... more

It is an interesting site, but if you have visited Tulum and/or Chichen Itza, this is too small and not very impressive. There are many iguanas. It is free on Sundays. more

Let me first start off by saying that this is a very small set of ruins, and if ruins are your main focus, then you should get on a bus for an all day tour. With that being said, El Ray was great. When you go, make sure you bring bread to feed the Iguanas. And I am not just... more

There are so many Mayan archeological sites scattered all across the Yucatan Peninsula that it is easy to overlook a site like the Ruinas del Rey. But it is well worth a visit. It is right on the edge of busy Boulevard Kulkulcan at the south end of the hotel zone but once you enter the ruins you are in... more

We went to the Ruins with the Jeep Adventure, it was everything they said it would be. It started at the ruins, which we caught the bus too. They gave us a great tour, we got to feed the iguanas also. Then we took the jeeps to the jungle, to do the zip line, it was amazing. The guide that... more

We decided not to take the 3 hour bus trip to Chichen Itza and go to El Rey instead from our hotel, we took the bus for 65 cents. They charged us 8.00 each for the tour, when the sign said 3.00 for entrance. I was going to argue, but considering we were the only ones there and didn't feel... more

We visited El Rey last week, soon after we checked in at our hotel as we didn't have much time - we got to the ruins at around 4.10 pm & they close at 5 pm but it was sufficient time. I expected the area of these ruins to be much smaller than they were & it was a nice... more

I didn't want to go on an all day trip to see ruins. These ruins are across from the El Pueblito. It costs $3 and is well worth it. There are restrooms there also. Make sure you bring bread because you can feed the iguanas. There are tons of them. We spent about 2 hours there looking at the ruins... more

if you have kids and are in Cancun this a great and cheep place to take them. Admission is $3.00 and you can wander till your hearts content. The ruins are not as great as the others around but your children can explore wherever they want and if you bring bread you can feed the lizzards. They are not mean... more
