I husband and I went to Avalon Baccara Cancun for our honeymoon. When planning our honeymoon I told my husband that I didn't want to stay at a large resort. This place was absolutely perfect. He booked the honeymoon suite and it just blew me away. There was an eating area off of our front balcony and a jacuzzi tub... more

My wife and I stayed here as part of our honeymoon. We wanted somewhere different to the huge all-inclusive chains that crowd the coastline, especially as we were staying over Spring Break! The Avalon Baccara was perfect - a small characterful hotel with a beautiful, uncrowded pool. We had room 305 - a gorgeous oceanside studio with kitchen, lounge and... more

Avalon Baccara is a great place to stay! The staff could not of been nicer. The only thing I would change would be to have an Ocean side room. We stayed in 408, which was very nice, but an Ocean room would of been better. Going down to the beach was a lot of fun! We didn't want to leave.... more

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The rooms and facilities are quite old, and there are major problems with lack of water pressure and hot water. However, we did get a room upgrade after we complained about the dank and dim first room that they showed us. At first the front desk person was belligerent, but he did upgrade... more

We loved this small boutique hotel. We stayed in room 402. The king size bed filled the room with no place to sit other than the bed. Balcony(on lagoon side) was spacious with 2 chairs and a table. Bathroom was large with lots of storage. Shower had plenty of hot water but had to let it run for sometime to... more

Beautiful, clean hotel. Cool pool. Very helpful front desk. We booked a cheaper standard room facing the lagoon because we went exploring every day: Chichen Itza, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, downtown Cancun, etc. Our room was plenty large, with lots of windows and light, and a big patio with chairs and a hot tub. If you are doing... more

We stayed at this great little hotel for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute. After day trips to Excaret and Chichen-itza it was wonderful to come back "home" to the Baccara each evening.Gabby, Christie, Juan Carlos and Juan to name only a few of the staff welcomed us back as family. If you like quiet, peaceful, small hotels this is it. We... more

We have never been out of the country. I had read all reviews on this hotel prior to going. Most of the reviews were not good. We went anyways, since most people know how much money you spend on a wedding we were stuck with this place. I informed my husband of some of the review just so that he... more
