The original room we were given was in the old tower and had a view out over the lagoon, mall and air conditioners out back and no balcony. Not good. We were told to return to the front desk in the morning and they'd see if they could upgrade us. We put up with that room for one night and... more

Just got back, bad timing for us older (late 40-50) folks as it was spring break for Canada and some east coast schools. The hotel was great, location good, food about average for an all-inclusive. As expected the alcohol is mostly mixer with a splash of alcohol. Tip more, get more, the usual routine in Mexico. The shows were great... more

We had a wonderful time, our teenagers loved it, and it was convenient to everything!! There's a mall directly across the road, and you have to go to La Isla shopping village which is a 1/2 mile walk. We did not go out at night but did go to Senor Frogs late afternoon one day. Senor Frogs was ok so... more

Hola!! I first want to mention that there is a Ritz Carlton down the street if that's what you're looking for out of a vacation (I work at a 4 diamond resort at home). The resort was lovely. Clean, staff was friendly, and it was great for the price. The food was good, nothing exciting, just your average buffet food.... more

This was my first time at an All-inclusive resort in Mexico. Overall I enjoyed my stay and had a great time. I'm a college kid. I got my free alcohol and was able to eat whenever I wanted to. I also didn't have to clean my room. The third day we found out that the housekeeping staff had stolen about... more

we stayed at the hotel with two other couples. we all had ocean view rooms at no extra charge. the rooms were clean and spacious with a little balcony overlooking the property and out to the ocean. the food was good and the people working at the bars and resturants were great. the kukulkan mall is right in front of... more

We have been to Mexico before so we knew what to expect, but this hotel was nasty! We were only there for one night because we ended up going there as part of a hotel exchange. We were in the Mayan Rivera for the first 6 nights of our trip. We were told the hotel is comparable to the resort... more

Not sure why others would rag on this place. It was clean, fun, great location and all at a great price. Rooms - I have heard of people getting bumped up at no charge to ocean view rooms from the standard "lagoon" aka mall view rooms...well done. We bit the bullet and paid to upgrade to a North Tower room... more

The staff was more friendly than we could have ever asked for, the food was better than expected for buffet food, the rooms were better than any hotel room i've ever stayed in (minus the shower which had very little pressure). I recommend that if you want to go to the pool to go to the one with the swim... more
