My husband is 24 and I am 22. We're not big partiers but, like everyone else, I had come on here to find out if the Grand Oasis would turn out to be a good honeymoon destination. My husband's brother and wife strongly recommended the hotel to us as they had been there twice before. Like you've probably heard, most... more

We are frequent travelers to the Caribbean (DR, Jamaica, Mexico) and have posted reviews on several of the places we've stayed. Each had their pluses and minuses....this place really doesn't have a redeeming factor to mention. As with everything your first impressions are lasting impressions. We were treated with less respect by the entire reception staff than Santa Claus at... more

First of all, check in and check out went very smooth! We booked our trip in the main pyramid...got there and they stuck us in the old part! Reacked of smoke! They forced us to pay an upgrade! We did! The service was great! The food was not too bad, although nothing spectacular! The pool area was good. Everything was... more

Once in 2003 and once in 2007. It was great in 2003. In 2007 not so great. It wasn't awful but it has gone downhill. I would chose a different resort if I ever go back again. I doubt I will though. I always get sick from someone slipping water in something while I am there. I have been going... more

OMG! Arrived, room not ready...no big deal, well eat! The restaurant and pool area immediately impressed me. Free food...ok..breathtaking view...Wow! The first 15 were great ones. We travelled, all 9 of us in 4 different rooms for a bachelor party. After eating the gross food in the nice restaurant, we walked into the lobby at 3 when they said the... more

I read a lot of reviews before going to this hotel and was slightly apprehensive but my boyfriend and I aren't snobs who were expecting top class everywhere we went. But having been there after reading the reviews (the majority negative) I think that either these people were very unlucky with their experience or were expecting royal service or something?!... more

My wife and I went w/ two other couples, we all had a great time. This resort has something for everyone. Pros: The rooms were nice, cool, and cleaned daily. The beach is a little rocky, but you don't have to walk far to get away from the rocks. The grounds were well manicured and clean. The check in -... more

Originally we were booked in the Grand Oasis Playa, which catered to adults +23. Only one week prior to our departure were we notified that due to economy that the hotel was closed and that we were to be moved. No alternatives given. Even though the Playa was colsed 6 weeks prior. We arrived early on the 16th and since... more
