I went to the Sunset Lagoon in January of 2007. It is a nice resort and the food was average, but avoid the timeshare presentation. Unfortunately, I did not follow my own advice. I signed a contract with them after being sold on the "investment opportunity" promising thousands in rental income. I also signed a 5 day cancellation waiver that... more

We booked through RCI, and were lied to about the timeshare tour. We were stuck with the salesperson for over 6 hours. It took us another 3 days to get all of our 'free' stuff, which really wasn't free cause everything you would want to do on the tours was extra. The Hotel was older, and dated, but the Staff... more

Good evening, thank you for your reviews. I want you to know that the comments and suggestions we receive from our guests are taken seriously. They tell us what we are doing right, what we are doing wrong and how we can improve. We were very happy and proud that our staff made you felt good, we know that they...

The room and hotel itself was beautiful. We had a deck w/a hot tub and beautiful room. The resort was also beautiful. HOWEVER, we did see roaches, just a couple. The restaurant closed at like 4 and dinner service didn't start until 7pm. You could get no food between that time. Room service is limited and when we did opt... more

The Sunset lagoon is a different type of resort than the mega hotels that are all throughout Cancun. The rooms are set up like little villas or apartments depending on what size room you need. There are studios, one bedroom, and two bedroom. Our group had the two bedroom and it was perfect. We had a second floor room and... more

We had a great time in Cancun but you need to avoid the sales people. Most of what they told was was completely not true. They said that we could hand over our other timeshares, get a discount and then we'd be given a cash payment from the government for our taxes because we released that property. The bottom line... more

I don't understand some of these bad reviews that I am seeing posted. Some comments about the price of taxis, airport hassle, and general Mexico annoyances, are obviously from people who have never been and will never appreciate Mexico. Mexico is very beautiful and my favorite spot to relax but do not expect it to be like Hawaii or Florida.... more

I stayed at the Sunset Lagoon with my husband and two children ages 8 and 12 for a week in July. We had a great time. The food was above average for Mexico and the service was excellent! Ask for Eduardo at the buffet for dinner, he was wonderful. Eduardo, the server at the pool was excellent too. The kids... more

My family had a great time at the Sunset Lagoon Hotel. As promised it was easy to go back and forth between the Sunset Royal, which is on the beach, and the Sunset Lagoon. We especially enjoyed the water taxi. There was food and drink whenever you wanted them at both hotels and the staff are very friendly and helpful.... more

I came with my husband, daughter, 10 and son, 6 for an unforgettable beach vacation. The first day was okay. We had a 30 min orientation about the resort. The room given to us was not at all perfect---it had bugs(ants), the toilet backed up 3 times, bedsheets & TV were old & worn-out. And it was close to the... more

We "won" our three day stay on an on-line auction, it was all inclusive. We have not "done" AI in a long time, we just wanted to start the vacation relaxed, before going to Cozumel and PDC. (We go to Mexico every year). Since we aren't the typical tourist, it was a different experience, but very nice. We got a... more
