The Girasol may not be the Ritz (as people have reported), but it certainly has some nice qualities. It has the best beach we have found. We just spent a week in penthouse #9. I would suggest that you rent the condo through [--]. You will get the best maintained condos in the Girasol buildings by using this site. We and our 2 teens had a great week of fun & sun at The Girasol. Close to the Cancun action with great beaches and easy to get to sight seeing locations as well. Clean and confortable with friendly service. Have fun! more

The place was rundown and still very water damaged from the hurricane. The tennis court is all but gone, it's covered in sand and weeds much like the rest of the hotel. For my and my husband, this was just what we were looking for. Inexpensive, nicely furnished, and RIGHT on the beach.
