This is a great little hotel in the City Center away from the sprawl and opulence of the hotel zone. Great service and smiling faces. Yummy breakfast; cozy simple rooms and of course the awesome garden and pool. Lots to do if you are interested in real Mexico vs hotel hideaways. more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights after a week on Isla Mujeres. While we wished we had planned to stay longer on Isla, we were pleased with this property and enjoyed exploring in downtown Cancun. The hotel property is beautiful and the room was quiet and very clean. A few tiny ants on the wall were the only... more

We visited El Rey del Caribe in Cancun during high season but in spite of the hotel being busy we were treated nicely and enjoyed our stay. You can't beat the location of this hotel, right next to a large grocery and a short walk to the central bus station which can take you anywhere in the Yucatan (Mexico for... more

I saw rave reviews of this place and I dont think it quite lives up to the hype. That said this hotel has some great features and I would definitely consider staying there again. First the good: The hotel grounds are VERY nice, very green. A very pleasant space to be in. I was travelling alone and my room was... more

We only stayed here one night, the last night on on 3 week trip through the Yucatan, just so we'd be close to the airport for our flight home. Considering the reviews of this place I was sorely disappointed. This was, by far, the worst place we stayed at for our entire trip. I believe we were lodged in the... more

We only spent one night here and it was after a long flight from Manchester – but for us it was a very nice pit-stop. We paid for pick-up from the airport and that worked fine. Everyone from the hotel was really nice – smiling and helpful. I think we got one of the least nice rooms in the hotel... more

We only stayed in Cancún for 1 night, because our plane was leaving from Cancún airport the next morning. We took this hotel because it was very close to the bus stop (about 100 m) and actually, it wasn't bad at all. OK, it might need some modernising, but it was clean and the staff were very friendly. There was... more

A great little oasis in the middle of the city - perfect place to put your base, nice and quiet with great rooms and we ended up with a kitchenette too in our room, not sure if that is standard or not. And that was so handy because the supermarket is across the street where we bought the most sinfully... more

What a great place to stay - spotless, comfortable rooms set around a beautiful courtyard garden, and only a couple of blocks from the bus station. After a long bus journey we had a painless and very welcoming check-in, breakfast the next morning was great, and the pool provided a refreshing morning swim. Excellent value for money! more
