We stayed in the Royal Service Gran Melia Hotel, September 5th-11th, and had a wonderful time. First let me give you some background about myself as a traveler. My husband and I tend to stay in Westin's and Hyatt's, though occasionally we splurge and stay at a Ritz or Four Seasons. I know good service when I see it, and... more

From the outside Gran Melia Cancun is a beautiful hotel, typical of it class, clean with smart decorated spaces and comfortable rooms. Despite of its glossy side, GMC is a money hungry machine. Its personnel is trained to go by policies and not allowed to use their hearts or practice common sense. We paid everything in cash, they had no... more

While we were at the hotel a little girl was hospitalized with food poisoning and the hotel Management did not do anything to help the family or compensate them. The hotel management was terrible! Also, the hotel looks nice, but it leaks when it rains. They have towels all over the place to soak up the water. Avoid. more

Dear Guest, We are writing in reference to the comment sent to our attention. Regarding the situation you describe, we would like to share with you that we do not have another report of food poisoning or similar from these dates. Thinking in all our guests and as the norms of health remarks, we do periodical revisions in all restaurants...

You can stop listening to all the people on here that obviously cannot be pleased. The Gran Melia is an amazing property and an amazing value. If you can afford the Royal Service - go for it. It's worth the extra money! You get free breakfast included and you have cocktails and appetizers at night. (Plus there are all little... more

Hi everybody, We went to the GM and here is a very honest overview of the resort: First let me start by saying hubby and I have been to a lot of resorts in Cancun/Mayan and Caribbean. I'm pretty particular because I get only a couple holidays a year, so resorts have to measure up! But I think I'm also... more

Stayed at the Gran Melia Cancun for one week this August at the Royal Service Wing under their all inclusive package. I must say that I found the hotel to be fabulous in every respect. The rooms are spacious, modern and well decorated. Our ocean view was superb. The hotel grounds and lobby are truly beautiful, I have not seen... more

I loved the view from our room, I never got tired of gazing at the neon blue sea. We didn't go for the all inclusive, since there are so many restaurants nearby to try. The breakfast at the hotel was great, huge buffet, fast service and lots of hot coffee. There isn't much of a beach in this area of... more

My husband and I visited the hotel 7/24-7/31. We were married at the hotel in Dec, 2007 and thought we'd return to enjoy the hotel without the stress of a wedding/family. First, our room was upgraded by the person who coordinated our wedding (who had actually kept in touch via e-mail). Then, We had a fruit tray in our room... more

On first take, the Melia looks fabulous. The hanging vines all around the spacious foyer really make for a stunning effect. The location is outstanding with a supreme stretch of beach. The swimming pools are also tops. But...... The rooms were only ok with sub-par ACs. The restaurants were overpriced and the food only adequate, especially for a five-star hotel.... more

In June of this year my husband and I booked the 6 night package at the Gran Melia Cancun to celebrate our honeymoon. The offerings of the package and the Royal Service amenities were very attractive, and the price very reasonable. In the initial stages of confirming our reservation with the property, the confusion began. Two different Sales managers attempted... more
