I was a little disappointed in this resort. I stayed at the Cancun Palace once before and was quite spoiled. The hotel food was great. In the mornings, I get up early, it was difficult to find a cup of coffee. The breakfast buffet didn't open until 7am and it was difficult to find coffee anywhere else. In the mornings... more

We stayed at the Riu Cancun over the 4th July 2009 weekend. 4 nights 5 days. This review is from a typical family. Mom & Dad, with 2 sons over 21 yrs old and their 2 friends over 21. Overall our trip was excellent. The town of Cancun has grown and is really a serious party town. Here is my... more

Riu Cancun was not what we expected. We expected a mid range resort for a vacation. We normally go to a Riu Palace property. We found that the junior suite had a full ocean view. It was as spacious and as comfortable as a palace room. The lanai was huge and it had a FULL VIEW of the ocean. Outstanding... more

I booked this for a Christmas getaway w/my adult children. Our flight was about one hour late landing, but we were relatively quickly put on a transport and taken to the hotel. On check-in discovered that they did not have my preferences/request (or so they said) on our rooms and they placed us in standard rooms in the bowels of... more

Loved our stay at this hotel from start to finish and really wanted to give it five out of five but there's just a couple of things that let it down. I shall come onto those at the end. But onto our experience, pulling up outside this hotel for the 1st time from the airport we just knew we had... more

I stayed at RIU Cancun in April 2009. I've divided this review into two parts - PROS & CONS. PROS: The RIU CANCUN is a clean hotel. You will find the hotel staff cleaning the floors all day long. The location of the RIU is perfect – if you are looking to be close to the action. It's close to... more

After a 10 hour flight you are quite hard to impress but believe me when I say this hotel its outstanding. The lobby is amazing and you're immediately given a Pina Colada when checking in. The food was nice at first but we quickly got fed up with food catered for Americans i.e. Sweet breakfast food?? The Al La Carte... more

I was very nervous about this hotel after reading the reviews here. We loved it. We arrived at noon and were promptly given a welcome drink at the front desk and were able to get to our room 3 hours before check in time. The staff were always attentive and very pleasant to deal with. The location of the hotel... more
