After flying into Cancun, we fled the traffic chaos by driving a little way North up the coast to this quiet little hotel with delightful tropical gardens, large pool, right on the beach opposite Isla Mujeres. Overall decor is colorful Mexican. There appeared to be no one else much staying so we selected a room with water view that was... more

This is a very simpel hotel. Positive: - Nice staff, worked hard to pleace you. - Quiet place, away from hotelzone - Real mexican feeling...not american like the hotelzone - Very cheap - Clean rooms every day! Negative: - Is a old hotel, you can see it in the room and bar/restaurant - The food is very simpel, often the... more

The hacienda is not for people who expect to be pampered the whole day, who like to party all the time, not for those who like to find gold at the end of the rainbow. It is a small park with 49 rooms/houses consisting of a bedroom and a bathroom. The food is simple but good, the staff is real... more

Not satisfied: - The Hotel can mention they are seaside, but I think they can’t say they have a beach. The beach is very small not convenient to use and dirty, the Hotel doesn't not care about cleaning it. - Huge problems with laundry. Table cloths in the bar and restaurant VERY DIRTY – shame to see. In our room... more

It was great at the Hacienda Punta Sam. Don't pay any attention to the negitive reviews. The food was good and so where the drinks. Were some ants in room but not an over abundance of them, we just killed them when we saw them. The front desk has some Raid but we never used it. Went snorkeling on beach,... more

The minute I set foot in this hotel, I fell in love with it. The athmosphere, the traditional Mexican looks, with colorful walls and roofs made of palmleafs, the pool, the shell with the gecko in it... The people are friendly, the beach is nice, the rooms are spacious and clean. We had a lot of fun with the staff... more

Why stay here??? ...when you can drive or take the bus 2 hours south to Tulum and get a great beach and a beautiful location. We stayed at HPS for one night because we needed a hotel close to Cancun to take an early flight.....The place is depressing, the beach was horrible!, (dirty, coverd in seaweed and stank) the place... more

Here is the scoop. The Hacienda Punta Sam was worth the $80/night per couple for everything that you got. The rooms were definitely nothing to brag about, but they did the job. The key for the air conditioning is attached to the key for the rooom, therefore, don't expect to walk into a cool room if you've been out and... more

What a great place to stay! Small quiet beachside resort with all the opportunities of Cancun just pennies away! It cost nine cents to take the bus to downtown, another 6 cents to go to the hotel zone. The resort was kept clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, like eveyone we met, locals and tourists. The resort... more
