This hotel is simply excellent. Formerly a Dominican monastery, it has been beautifully converted and, as one of the other reviewers says, is a fascinating building in which to stay. The hotel manager gives an English language tour of the building to explain its history and how that relates to the history of Konstanz. The rooms are air conditioned, plenty... more

The steak was tough and tasteless. The service was slow. We expected more from a hotel restaurant of this standing and when we complained the waitress did not have much time for us. When we emailed our complaint the following day, we never received a response. more

We stayed at this hotel the first week of September. We had a room considered a city view. The view was actually of a parking lot, so we decided they meant, things you would see when in a city. The room was larger than what we expected. There was fresh fruit and bottled water waiting for us when we arrived.... more

The hotel has a lot of history - not very often did we have the opportunity to stay in a hotel with cloisters that have painted walls, an inner courtyard, and is the birthplace of a famous person (count Zeppelin). It was rather cool for July, so we did not miss the air conditioning all that much. I even visited... more

Having read the other reviews we were a bit worried about our choice of hotel but we would say great hotel, great base for touring and would stay here again. This is a hotel for relaxing. It is quiet but has a lovely atmosphere. We had the most beautiful large room on the third floor with a balcony.and a fantastic... more

This hotel is lovely - on a small island right on the lake. The property appeared to be nearly empty - but the rate was still quite high (200 euro/night). The room was spacious and clean. The property could use a bit of an update, particularly in the Zeppelin bar. Ask for a room with a lake view. If you... more

We stayed at the Steigenberger for one week at the end of August. We were delighted with the hotel and have nothing but praise - except perhaps a niggle that the restaurant service was on the slow side and the huge square feather pillows were not to our taste. Our room was a garden view on the 3rd floor. It... more

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of June 06 as a result of other comments seen here. Its a nice hotel but has one major problem. If you get a room on the 4th floor it is infact the converted loft. The daytime temp was 28c on the first day & 24c on the second. The loft area... more

The hotel itself is excellent. In particular the room we had (which as far as we are aware was "standard") was much larger than we have found elsewhere with comfortable chairs and a large bathroom with "his and hers" basins, a large bath and a shower. Food was also excellent in the table d'hote restaurant (there is another we did... more

We stayed only one night and found the place definetely not 5 star, maybe 4 star plus. The hotel is located in a former dominican monastery which was apparently converted into this hotel. The room on the fourth floor was comfortable but not luxurious and had a great view over the lake. The windows needed to be kept closed during... more
