With great reviews of this restaurant, we decided to make reservations. A hidden gem in downtown Cancun. We were seated in the garden, near a fan and mist machine, which made dining more enjoyable. The garden was in a Mayan theme, and it is suggested to browse the garden. We were attended to immediately once seated. The menu has local... more

We dined at the new restaurant in the Zona Hotelera that has been open just 20 days. Ambiance and decor are sophisticated yet casual, lagoon view. Wait staff was attentive and a little too much but they were clearly interested in making sure we had a good experience. Food was very good. My wife and I gave it a 4... more

Look no further! Every year as I take the three kids and my wife to Cancun, I pick a special night for just me and my wife to enjoy a great quiet evening of great food and fantastic atmosphere at the La Habichuela - I love to cook and am very fussy about fine dinning - Now right it down... more

My family just returned from a trip to Cancun. Twenty some years ago my husband and I went to Cancun and visited La Habichuela and had an extremely memorable meal that we still talk about. So when planning this trip with our children we were very excited to see that the restaurant was still in business in the original location... more

While staying with friends in Cancun we took the bus from the Royal Sands to Cancun City. Our friends asked us not to judge the restaurant by the area. We were somewhat apprehensive as we got off the bus at the end of rush hour and wandered down the main street and then veered off down a side road. La... more

We dined at the new location for La Habichuela in the Hotel Zone last night and had a wonderful meal. I'm posting it here since it's only been open for a couple of weeks so it won't be on your maps but it is well worth finding and a lot easier than going downtown. The food was excellent, the service... more

The interior and garden are fabulous, and rather a change from the surrounding area. Our party of eight enjoyed great service and very fine food in the charming garden. My house specialty of beef tips "prepared like grandma used to" was spectacular. Our group included adults and teens and everyone found something to enjoy. Our bill was under $25 US... more

Absolutely perfect! We went to La Habichuela after a whole day of bad experiences in Cancun and it really made up for everything. The food was great (we had lobster), service was absolutely delightful and the atmosphere was wonderful. If you go, try the Mayan coffee. It's worth it just to see them preparing it in front of you! La Habichuela... more

The other reviews pretty much say it all; I just wanted to add my 5 stars. The "famous" Cocobinchuela (sp?) is quite good, and my wife liked the Veracruz style fish. The garden is beautiful and romantic, though more air circulation would be nice. more

glitzy nouveau Cancun disappears here.... despite the rain, and the hurried dash for inside dining... the staff and food here were terrific.. a great escape from the typical plates of mexican fame...... harking on old Mexican flavors with classy dining and excellent atmosphere. I love the street-corner carts and fried everythings that Mexico offers, but welcomed the change at least... more
