No jewelry to speak of at Sun Palace. Go to Moon or ASP for that. The gift shop is adequate at Sun. I just added several pictures to the trip pictures, including what I had of the rooms at Sun Palace, and a couple more from Playacar Palace.

Also added a couple from Xcaret. We go everytime, and always enjoy it. Plan on a day, including the evening with the Dinner. It will give you an appreciation of Mayan History, civilization, and Mexican patriotism. Sat and Sun is the least crowded.

Certainly not a lot of dining options.

I wish I could find out about the oriental restaurant

I, too, am hoping the Oriental will be open. We go in May. I'm also a bit concerned about the waits for dinner? Exactly how long are we talking? I've heard a few people mention this now. No reservations are great, but i fyou are sitting there in line waiting an hour.............

I'm with you guys about the wait for dinner. There are only 2 restaurants and the buffet. The resort is not nearly full right now - how long will waits be when the resort is closer to full.

I thought I had read on the Palace website that there would be a Thai & Mediteranean (sp?) restaurant as well as the Italian & steak house.
