Welcome back! We're headed there in April. Can't wait.

1. Restaurants - decent food? I'm not too picky, but I don't want to eat from a buffet all the time. Also, what's the guacamole situation? I practically live on the stuff when I'm in Cancun. Mmmmmm

2. Drinks - any specialties that you recommend? did you try any mojitos? any surly bartenders we need to stear clear of?

3. Were your tours included, and if so, were you hassled by timeshare people in order to book them?

4. Would you go back?

Thanks!

-Lori

travelori-

1) Restaurants were sort of hit and miss. It was so silly, the mexican and the steakhouse were together in the same room, but all people in our party had to order off either the Mexican or the steak menu, and had to sit in seperate sections. One night we decided on the steak menu and could only sit outside. It was extremely windy and chilly out and there were at least 15 empty tables inside, but we could not go inside to dine. I was not to happy about that. The first night our steaks were very good, the second time a little tough. Italian restaurant very good. Mexican also good.

Good breakfast buffets and room service.

2)Drinks were fine, drank mostly strawberry daquiries or mudslides and blue hawaiins

3)Did not do included tours, had booked some through Eplus, will post more on that in review

4)I would probably go back again in the future, but we do like to try new resores

Have heard that there is an older crowd at this resort, we are going in June. Both in our VERY late 30's are we going to feel comfortable?

selluacaddy-I would have to say that it was a very mixed crowd ranging from maybe late 20;s (although not many of that age group) to late 50's-mid 60's. We are in our late 40's and found many other couples in our age group. If you are into nightlife, there is not much to be found here. In fact one night at the international show in the lobby bar we left because we felt like we were in an old folks home-LOL

Would you say that the service at this property is better than average? Guac and chips readily available most of the time? Is the band in the lobby at night pretty good? Is it hard to find a chair by the pool if you show up at 10 or 11 a.m.? Is there any talk of when another restaurant will be open? I saw on their website that they have oriental appetizers at one of the bars,( lobby bar?) did they have that? Is topless at the beach there allowed? Is there any talk of when the shuttles will start again between the Palace resorts?

I know this is a lot of questions...Thank You for your time.

traveldreamers

Service was very good and prompt at the restaurants by the pools and for room service

Band was also good in the lobby bar in the evenings

Guac and chips available all day by the pool and I believe in the restaurants also

The oriental restaurant is still not open, and could not get infor on when, but it seems to have a little ways to go yet

Appetizers at the lobby bar-We went in late one aftenoon and got a drink and the waitress came out with some appetizers for us

Did not see any topless here and was quite surprised

No shuttle running between the resort that we found, just did bus or taxi
