 Poftheo--Sun Palace question

Poftheo, if you're still visiting--I read an old post of yours on the Sun Palace that scares me. I know you like the resort, but you mentioned that they will be closing down for a few months for a remodel to reopen in early '06.

We're headed there in July--I'm afraid of visiting a resort that's about to close for a remodel. What are your thoughts? Or anyone else's for that matter!

There haven't been any reviews on Sun for the last couple of weeks, which makes me nervous. I know I'm obsessing here...

No problem... i have heard though that if you dont like the sun upon arrivign you can switch to another palace hotel.. The sun seems perfect for us..we like to party but not like we are 18! (try doubling that)..My expectations? I think pretty realistic...

I am hoping for not too much rain..went to hawaii for a few days in January and it stormed the WHOLE time..couldnt even get in the water =(..and that was without kids.

I've heard the same thing sunspun, but I think Sun is the place for us. We're also not 18 anymore, but leaving our 8 year old at home for this trip, and planning to do our fair share of partying! :)

I'm going to want details when you get back!!

Bummer about the Hawii trip--hopefully the weather will cooperate for this one.

I am hoping for another family with kids. My 8 year old is quiet but social. They will just be thrilled to be away! Also they havent been able to swim here due to weather and earache (cured now..phew) so they are revving to go! (SO AM I!)

There have been several people here posting that the Sun Palace was going to close for a remodel. What I heard was not until sometime in September or October and due to reopen in December. I have not confirmed this with the Sun Palace as I don't plan on going until January.

The Sun Palace is NOT closing for renovation, as previously planned. Originally it was to close from Sept. 1 through Dec. l but that idea was scrapped.

Peace !

Thanks Singer! Is that information somewhere that I could have found it, or do you just know first-hand?
