Oakley's cost the same in Cancun as in the US. The only "deals" you can get are "f-Oakleys" or "fake" Oakleys in the flea market. Depends on your needs. If you want the real thing, you'll pay for it.

oakleys are made in california, so their more expensive in mex being an import and all. there is an oakley store in the kukulcan plaza you could check out. there a million counterfeit pairs from street vendors if thats what your interested in, quality isn't the same though. btw i work for oakley!

The Oakleys my son bought at the shop in La Isla mall last year was the same as the price in the US - it was the suggested retail price. He had wanted them here but couldn't get the color he wanted so he bought them in Cancun.

Agreed on the lack of quality of the knock offs. If you are just looking to spend a few bucks on something that looks like the real thing, then shop at the the flea market or WalMart for some knock offs. If you want the quality of a real pair of Oakleys, buy them where you get what you want.

thats interesting im glad your son got a good deal! i havent been to any of our mexico locations yet, but we have a lot of people on business from mexico city coming to the store and they always buy a large quantity for their friends and family because of the substantial price difference!

I bought a fake "LV" sunglasses at Puerto Jaurez for $5 at the pier. Is that the proper price or can it be found cheaper elsewhere?

Keep in mind if you are a AAA member you can geta discount at Sunglass Hut here in the states. Just went through this yesterday with my wife. She had Lasik eye surgery last week and needed new sunnys. Ended up buying her 3 pairs of Fossil sunnys at the mall last night(she couldn't decide, so I did it for her).. LOL!

Looks like i'll just go to the mall this weekend and pick up a pair before i leave. Think of it as another early x-mas present to myself :)

I bought some fake Oakleys from a beach vendor at the Riu Cancun. Lost them in the ocean after returning to Cancun with them for a couple of years...then I was really happy that they weren't the real thing :) A friend of mine lost a very expensive pair of sunglasses in the ocean...once they fall off it is next to impossible to find them--the waves wash them away almost immediately.

oh trust me i know... last time i was in mexico (about 6-7) years ago, i lost my eye glasses in the ocean. Don't ask what i was doing wearing them while swimming but i was lol. Didn't have another pair so i went the rest of the trip without really being able to see lol.

this time i'm bringing 2 pairs of contacts (didn't wear contacts back then) and a pair of glasses for backup :)

After I have a couple drinks, my good judgment gets cloudy and I forget that I'm wearing them, or I forget that they are on top of my head and go underwater (sometimes not willingly, but knocked over by a wave). That's usually how I lose them...so no good sunglasses in Cancun for me :)
