September and October are among the slowest seasons of the year in Cancun typically. The A-H1N1 news caused a drastic downward spike in business in Cancun despite the resort town being nearly a thousand miles away from Mexico City, the so called epicenter in Mexico, over the past couple of months, but due to better understanding of A-H1N1, business has increased and hotel occupancy while not at normal levels has increased dramatically in comparison with the first two months of the news.
September, as stated is a slow month traditionally and any lingering doubts regarding the A-H1N1 spread will likely have percentages dipping below what is normal.
There's only been a handful of confirmed cases in Cancun proper and about 100 confirmed cases thus far of A-H1N1 in Quintana Roo, Cancun's home State.
