Yes, you need to be concerned about sea lice if you'll be swimming in the ocean anytime from April-June. Go online and purchase "Safe Sea" lotion, which should protect you from sea lice bites. It has worked well for us.

I guess I'm just going to risk it since I'm under 10 days and there probably isn't anyway to get my hands on any sea safe before I leave next Saturday.

To be honest with you, I have only had my kids use Safe Sea. My husband and I go in the water every year unprotected and we've never had a problem with sea lice. You'll probably be ok without it.

I believe you can order Safe Sea next day or whatever, so I do think you have time to get it if you want.

Fun4Ever,

Thanks for the the info. I did find a site that will send it 2nd day air if you spend $50 or more (would need to by 4 bottles) which seems a little expensive for just going 7 days.

jaws,

you can probably get it there just as easy. It might cost $20 instead of $12, but after shipping you will probably be about even.

buyseasafe.com is the actual site and has it for $12 a bottle, 5 dollars to ship Priority mail (up to $25 of merchandise).

2-5 days to get to you.

sea lice arn't a problem in Cancun utill very late April/May.

If you see pepper in the water get out and wash off right away. They like to stick under you bathing suit/waist band.

I'm glad this question was posted on the forum. My husband and I are staying at GCPS between 5/1 and 5/6/06, and had heard nothing about it. Going online right after this to check out the product you're all speaking of. Thanks so much!
