My husband and I went on the Columbus Lobster Dinner Cruise on April 28, 2007. We were VERY disappointed. I got all dressed up for a romantic evening. Not a good idea for this venue. My heels kept getting stuck in the planks as we were walking to the boat. The wind kept me holding my dress down to avoid exposing myself.
Upon entering the boat we were greeted with a flower, a photographer and premade cocktails . We were seated on a bench on the side of the boat. We later realized this is where we would be taking our meal. They came around before serving the meal and set something like a tv tray in front of each of us to eat our meal on. The lobster was ok, the piece of steak was inedible. The baked potato was cold and the because of the wind the salad wanted to fly off its plate. Desert was a slice of packaged dark chocolate cake. Nobody seemed to eat much of their dinner.
On the trip out they had a local musician playing the sax. That was nice. When he took his break they turned on recorded music and invited everyone to get up and dance. The dance floor was the walkway on the side of the boat no more than 3 feet wide!! Only a couple of people got up to dance.
As we were leaving the boat the crew stood by with a huge tip box!!
We were disappointed with this cruise. However, we were in Cancun with a group of our business associates. A few of them went on the Pirate Cruise and had a GREAT time. Should have gone with them instead of the non-romantic lobster cruise.
