This question is for anyone who has recently stayed at the Omni. We are booked for a week at the end of July and are planning on possible upgrading to an ocean front view. I wanted to know if all of the ocean rooms have a balcony and if not how far down does the window come to the floor. The reason I ask is because my daughter who just turned 2 loves the ocean and when we were in Puerto Vallarta should would spend all the time in the room looking out the window at the ocean so I was hoping Omni was similar or it is not worth it to book an Ocean View Room.

Thanks

I am pretty sure that all rooms have balconies. I think the ocean view rooms are very worth while and lots better than the lagoon view rooms IMHO. Yes, I think you should upgrade.

The ocean view rooms all have patio doors that slide open but can be locked. The balconies have benches built on the side and have pretty high railings. They are cement "railings" so you don't have to worry about your little one squeezing through the bars.

I would defniitely upgrade to an ocean view room if possible. Your little one will also love the pool. It has wide steps that are very shallow as well as a huge deck with deck chairs in the water where you can lie on the deck chair while he/she plays right next to you in shallow water. It's a great pool area for kids.

Have fun!

Cheryl

We were just at the Omni a couple of weeks ago and started out in a lagoon view room. We upgraded to an ocean view room immediately! It was so worth it. Our kids are a little older but loved the ocean view room! Mostly all rooms have a balcony, except for the highest floors, which we just noticed when we were there. We were on the 18th floor, which is actually only 5 floors up. The balcony door is wall to wall glass sliding door but the actual balcony has a pretty high concrete wall surrounding it so I don't think your little one will actually be able to see the ocean. There was a little side table on the balcony that we promptly had removed so our girls wouldn't try to climb up on it to see better. IMHO the ocean view room was much nicer than the lagoon view room. It had a better safe, an alarm clock/radio, mini bar and coffee maker.

We are heading to the Omni July 29 to Aug 5. Yesterday I upgraded to a villa. My kids are boy19, girl14 and boy 12. it seems better to have us all in one room. Has anyone stayed in the villas?

We have stayed in one of the villas and it was very nice. There are two bedrooms, one is like a master suite with a king bed, the other has two full/queen beds. Both have their own bathrooms. There is a loft upstairs with another full bed and full bath. Main floor has small kitchen, formal dining area and living area. Also has a 1/2 bath. The villas really are the way to go for bigger groups or families who want to stay together but still have the privacy of their own room.

monkatom,

I don't nkow. We requested an upgrade when we checked in and weren't charged anything additional. One note though....do not accept a room on the 2nd floor. Any floor above the 2nd is great, though.

We had a room on the 2nd floor for one night several years back and could only stand it one night. We asked at the front desk the next day to be moved and they honored our request immediately. The 2nd floor rooms have an open balcony overlooking the bar and are loud until late night/early morning. Above the 2nd it's a closed hallway and everything is totally quiet.

We had to pay $40 per night to upgrade but we didn't book directly with the hotel. I've heard if you book with them directly sometimes they don't charge to upgrade. We thought the price was fair because our second rooms was MUCH nicer.
