I hope that it's not that bad. I'm in the same boat as you are. Heading to the Omni in 9 more days. Before I booked, all the reviews were raving about the Omni and couldn't say enough good things about it. Since I've booked, the reviews are terrible. I tried to switch hotels but no luck. So I decided I'm going to the Omni no matter what and I'm going to have a fantastic time despite anything that happens. Please let me know how your trip goes... and I hope things are great for you when you get down there.

We leave in 15 days after a much anticipated 4 month wait also.

I'm really hoping it's just a few picky individuals that do nothing but complain all the time anyway.

Hoping that someone else returns soon and gives a better perspective.

If either of you could post on your experience to the TA board upon your arrival home that would be helpful to us that are leaving right after you.

We have been to the Omni in previous years and loved it. We were at the Royal Mayan next door in May. The beach is gorgeous. If that's narrow, I don't personally need wide. It's beautiful, white sand, gorgeous turqoise water. The Omni has good restaurants, a beautiful pool, nice rooms (toilet issues are so minor), and good service. I am really surprised by the negative reviews. Just my opinion.

all kinds of people head to Cancun and some treat their reviews as if they were a food critic and LOOK for things to go wrong or not perfectly

Just look around your office...you can probably see 5 or 6 whiners that are never satisfied and are doom and gloomers

The Omni sounds very nice so go and have a good time...no worries in Cancun

Thanks everyone! Guess i'll be the Omni guinea pig huh? =) I'm really not all too worried. As I said, I don't sweat the small stuff. Especially on a vacation! But I needed some peace of mind so i'm glad to hear some positive feedback! I'll definitely post a review as soon as I return. Thanks again!

Just curious... when are you coming back?

Just back from Omni and the beach was great? Not sure about being narrow. More than enough room to lay out with great sand and water. Waves a little rough and break close to shore making it hard to body surf yet were fun. Rooms great buses close by. My negative was the service until you tipped. Other than that I think the food was decent Davincis excellent and overall facilities good. No problems with the toilets in my room they worked great.

I'll be there through Aug 26th. A whole week in paradise =)

Good to hear that the beach is nice and that you had a good experience. I don't know why I let the complainers get to me like that!?!
