The Omni is a great hotel--beautiful pool area--beautiful stretch of beach--friendly staff--good service. You will love it there. We like to eat breakfast every morning at the restaurant on the beach. A great way to start the day. The superior rooms have fridges I believe. The deluxe and run of the house rooms do not. Maid service is once a day and all the times we've stayed there, they have been very prompt.

The Jungle Tour is a fun snorkeling trip that only takes a couple of hours out of your day. I've not been to Cancun during the holiday season so I don't know if tours are closed on Christmas. Since it's not a national holiday in Mexico, I would guess they would be open.

The surf can be choppy at times depending on the time of year and what the local weather is doing. Right before a rain, the surf can kick up. But it can also be very nice. Just pay attention to the flags.
