I have been to the omni 3 years in a row. we just love it if you like the beach this is the

place to go. Its really big and not over crowed and there is no rocks. They also wait on

you while you sit on the beach which we really enjoy. you had mentioned the rui well

i heard there is no beach very rocky where it would cut your feet. no beach service.

but i think the hotel is a litlle bit nicer than the omni. the omni although redid all there rooms this year. the omni pools and hottubs are also nice.I would recomend the omni.

I second the Omni. It is a fantastic property and is located on a beautiful stretch of beach with no rocks. One of it's restaurants is located right on the beach, plus it is the only hotel in Cancun with a Jacuzzi bar on the beach.

Riu Cancun is a nice hotel, itself, but their beach is small and is rocky in some places.

Stay at the Omni for the BEACH, BEACH, BEACH. You won't regret it. Someone mentioned the jacuzzi bar--you actually sit at the bar in swings that are hooked up to the roof. Really neat. Also, the Pina Colada restaurant is directly on the beach (sand included)!! They give the ladies a hybiscus for their hair upon entering. Only one bad note: watch out for the timeshare people!! If you can graciously say no and mean it, there shouldn't be a problem. The comments about the beach at RIU are absolutely correct.

The Omni has a great beach and wonderful staff. Loved the swings at the beach bar. You can't go wrong!

I have never stayed at the Omni, but if I had children I would not stay at the RIU Cancun. We just got back from the RIU Cancun on Oct 9, the beaches are very rocky. The rooms are nice and the food is good.

My stay at the RIU was a VACATION from HELL!! This was our 5th time to Mexico and our first stay at the RIU. I fell and they would do nothing to help my husband or I. We even had to find and pay our own way to the hospital.

When we got home 5 days later my jaw was broken in two place and my ribs were broke.

Just to let you know I went to talk to the Sub Director " Macu Garcia at the RIU. (I have her card). She stated that anyone that doesn't were shoes around the pool is UNEDUCATED! And would not help us at all. I WOULD NOT recommend this resort to anyone and especially if you have children.

Wow, I am so sorry you had a lousy time, and I am wanting to hear more about your jaw!!!. you poor thing. I am so nervous now about this hotel, but i booked it so that I wasn't near rough surf. I think I am reading too much about this place, that I am just confused. Thank you for your response, and I hope you are feeling better soon.
