Have stayed twice in room 1850, the 50's are right in the middle of the building and have a straight on full view of the pools and the gulf.

Thanks, MM! So, not counting the penthouse on the center right, how many floors is that down from the top of the building? Or, how many floors up is that from about the top of DaVinci?, Or, say, how many above the trellis over the dining terrace?

There is only two more floors above and plenty of clearance over any other obstacles. I always hope our room is close to this location since the view is straight with the beach and not looking at any buildings. We have been to the Omni nine times in the last 4 years and love the place!

aq700 - did you email Rafeal? I think I gave you his email. He is the membership manager(club premier) and can answer this question. I never paid to much attention to room numbers as I always get an ocean view being a member.

All villas are ocean view. The last trip we just took, the photos are in a villa.

I CAN tell you, that if you book over the internet through sources like expedia, etc, you are more like to get a lagoon view room. The are more ocean view rooms as only the main hotel part has lagoon view.

Don't fret too much about the ocean view though. The only real great benefit is sitting on the balcony. You can just go down to the resort amenities and enjoy the ocean.

I find myself not using the balcony much anymore.......

You might be better off calling the Omni and asking for Rafeal. Tell him Eric Avery says hi... He knows me pretty well. Tell him you might be interested in a membership....he's not a sales guy so no worries. He'll anser your questions.
