CancunJoe...can you help with Omni room number question?

Hey Joe! Can you tell us how the room number layout works, in the main tower / pyramid building?

It seems that rooms in the mid 1840's & 1950's have great ocean views, whether even, or odd. Can you tell us which room numbers are THE ones to ask for?

Not looking for villas, hopefully king beds, but doubles are OK, too!

Don't the villas all have ocean views, anyway?

Thanks!

Angela

Hi Eric2!

I did mail Rafael & had been corresponding with Marisol. She did tell me to be in touch 1-2 weeks before travel to attempt to "arrange" a location. Of course, always the disclaimer of "ocean view not guaranteed." I am going to assume (oh my) that owners & those who exchange into owner's shares will get ocean view.

I will not be absolutely upset if I get a decent level Lagoon view. I like to watch sunsets over any water. I really like to hear the sound of the ocean, though. When we stayed at RPM in Playacar, we had a special 2-level suite. It was very nice, but you could barely see the ocean, & Cozumel in the distance. I would have traded down for a better view. The courtyards & gardens are beautiful to see, but....... There really were no ocean views from that hotel. Might be more now after the palm trees were distressed.

I was asking about the layout, since it helps if one can "suggest" certain room numbers, or equivalent ;-} I think........

Angela,

If you get an ocean view at the Omni, its a spectacular view....

I agree, it is very nice to hear the ocean.

As far as layout goes, studios, 1 bedrooms, and 2 bedrooms can be found in the main hotel. The wings have 1 and 2 bedroom units as well. The villas are seperate structures closer to the ocean.

I should have paid attention better to room numbers...but,

2112 is on the 2nd floor, 3108 is on the 3rd, etc.... so the higher the first digit the higher up you are.

When's your trip again?

Eric A........ I will be there 12/02-12/09. Wish that was other than US dates, & meant for 7 years instead of 7 days! I really think I will try my hardest to get 17, 18, or 1950.. or something very close to those. Who wouldn't love a 1BR upgrade, but I don't know if I'd trade that for view.

As for balconies...... looks like some have 2 padded "beds," & some only have 1??? Any clue about that? I do know there are some rooms with step-down closed view. I really don't want 1 of those. I am thinking that shouldn't happen with a timeshare/member trade. I hope.......
