 the BBG Hotel

we stayed there oct21 to nov5 this year we have never been to a place where so many people smoke it was gross. The food was the same day after day not bad but not good either. As for service from the staff well the more money you give them the better the service so if you want something shell out the green backs.

The people that go to the BBG are of a lower class and it really shows after they have had a few drinks and most drink all day long we would never recommend this place or ever go back

signed waste of $$$$$ & time

Unfortunately Kathy you may not have researched this particular resort properly. As another guest said...you either love it or hate it at the BBG.

I would never stay there personally...nothing againt the people who like this place, but the entertainment offered specifically at the BBG isnt something that appeals to me...

Public raunchyness is a sign of lower class in my opinion as well. However Im very no-judgemental, and hey if it makes someone else happy, who am I to judge againt it. To each their own. :)

In terms of smoking, I agree with you i would have been equally disgusted if surrounded bya bunch of people who do nothing but smoke all day.

In any case, you learn from your experiences, and hopefully next time you can pick a resort that better caters to your likes. We are all responsible for the choices we make. :)

I'm like CCC and would never stay at the BBG, but I know this because I've heard a lot about it on the Internet. I might be interested in visiting for a day just to see what all the fuss is about.

I personally do not care for the type of entertainment they provide there, and would choose a resort accordingly. For me to engage in and appreciate public raunchiness, it'd have to be completely spontaneous and not contrived for me to get into the spirit.

However, calling people low class bottom feeders shows us how classless and nasty the person is making the remarks, no matter how righteous and vociferous they may be in their commentary.

I'm not overly impressed with how Kathy has called me lower class because of where I go for my vacation. She doesn't know me so she has no right to judge me or anyone else who may go to BBG.

She obviously didn't do her research, and to be honest she sounds like one of those people who no matter where they go probably would find something to complain about.

Myself and my partner have stayed at the BBG. I know it is not a 4* but more like a 3*. I do think it is quite derogatory to say that the people are of a lower class, because I know I'm not and I know many other people who stay there who are not low class.

We have a laugh and enjoy being around the hotel. We have never took part in any of the "activities" or even feel pressured to do so, though it does go on.

The staff when I have stayed have been excellent, it is surprising having a 5 minute converstation with someone can do instead of waving a 10 dollar bill at someone saying "get me a beer now!" Or maybe this is because I'm English and have courtesy for other people, unlike some.

When Kathy gerneralizes and says that all people who go to BBG are lower class is like saying that all Canadians are like Kathy...just not true.

I'm sorry but I did not generalise any nationality in my post - I was aiming it at her.

Though I'm not staying at the BBG (looked into it and damn near booked it, but wanted a more glamorous room for anniversery), I am more upset about the way smokers are put down. My wife and I are both smokers, and enjoy it. We observe all non-smoking restrictions, even to the point of not lighting up in a smoking section if people next to us are still eating. If we can be courtious to others, why can't it be reciprocated? Much like if you find a TV show offensive, change the channel. I don't go to non smoking bars/resuraunts and complain because I can't indulge, all I ask for is the same when non-smokers are in designated smoking areas. It is possible to co-exist, it just takes cooperation on BOTH parties.

I've stayed at the BBG. The food was great. I had no issues, my friends had no issues. The service was fantastic, the rooms were excellent.

The booze is horrible. Bottom of the barrel vodka, Rum, etc. The beer is draft DOS. The soda, beer and spirits come from the same tap. Oddly enoughly, the wine is the only alcohol beverage that won't give you the runs.

The Swingers statements are over the top, there's little truth to them. From what I understand, the real Swingers resorts were destroyed in the storm, hence, the real swingers adopted the BBG as their spot. Once the Swinging resorts were rebuilt, the swingers left BBG.

Being 30, I'd sum the place up in one sentence. " Where your parents go to party"

As for the games around the pool... There's 2 other pools and the ocean's right there. If you don't like seeing a stage full of 40 yr old woman bouncing around to the song YMCA, leave the party pool area.

Low class ?

I wouldn't go that far.

I get a kick out of people who expect Lobster and $80 steaks at a A.I.
