 the BBG Hotel

we stayed there oct21 to nov5 this year we have never been to a place where so many people smoke it was gross. The food was the same day after day not bad but not good either. As for service from the staff well the more money you give them the better the service so if you want something shell out the green backs.

The people that go to the BBG are of a lower class and it really shows after they have had a few drinks and most drink all day long we would never recommend this place or ever go back

signed waste of $$$$$ & time

Come on guys give the girl a break, i dont think she was expecting $80 lobster, she probably just went down a week when some...lets say...lower class people were staying at the resort.

Last time I was in Cancun there were a few guys at the airport waiting in line with us, bragging about how awesome this hotel was....these guys were mid 40's, wearing NASCAR Tshirts, yellow teeth, and couldnt say one sentence without the F word in it. I thought to myself "Im glad I wasnt staying in the same place"....

Im not generalizing, but if you dont know any better, its easy to assign generalizations in this case. Because theyre based on one's own experiences. Its wrong, but understandable.

With regards to the courtesy to smoker's comment, I dont think Its an issue of courtesy...most smokers stink. They dont realize it beacause they've gotten used to the smell. However its quite a potent smell for people who dont consume tobacco products.

I will never judge someone who comments about how disgusting tobacco is... because for us non smokers, it is. I guess though, unless you assign a smoking pool at resorts, its probably useless to try and find some kind of balance.

Regards.

Well, being a 3-peater to BBG, it never fails to baffle me how people with so much class continue to book at a 3 star resort with right below their description risque atmosphere continue to flap about how low class this place is.

Actually I'd rather be low class than not have class at all, which is what I consider people like you who continually pick a hotel on the lower price end of all the resorts in Cancun and expect to be put on a pedestal and pampered the entire time your there, pampering and high maintenance take $$, so do us low class people a big favor next time you book a resort, be careful who you show your W-2 to next time....coz really, us low classers are EVERYWHERE, and we dont take too kindly to people like you that think they're above the rest of us who work for a living also!

I'm pleased to announce that we have weeded out another couple from gracing out presence in Cancun to literally ruin our time by whining about how they didn't have Juan wipin their hands after they went to the bathroom, or how prime rib should be served for breakfast. Tipping is automatic policy no matter where you stay in Cancun, I'd get used to it if you plan to return.

And really, who are you to look down on people who do what they want on their vacation.......if some people want to smoke, drink all day and have a good time doing it, they paid for their vacation just like you did, who are you to tell them otherwise?

After reading ccc's smoker comments, I felt compelled to reply, even though I know it's just gonna turn into a pissing match, which was not the point of my post. You state that you don't generalize or judge, and then spend the rest of the post generalizing and judging. I belive what you meant was that you don't generalize and judge those that you agree with. And nothing I say here will change your mind about your prejudice against certain groups of people; this isn't the place for such things anyway. My post was merely trying to be a polite way of saying that I was offended by certain remarks about a group that includes me, and that posts on a travel site should stick to travel. A little decorum could be used everywhere, not just in these posts. Here's a little game to try. Take your phrase "I dont think Its an issue of courtesy...most smokers stink." (I clipped that directly from your post, btw). Now replace the word "smoker" with any other group you don't like. Maybe it's overweight people. Or redheads. Point being is that smokers seem to be an easy target these days; we seem to be the only group not protected from hate speech, which, when you boil it down is exactly what the phrase "...most smokers stink.", is. Think about that next time you see "guys were mid 40's, wearing NASCAR Tshirts, yellow teeth" and you "thought to myself 'Im glad I wasnt staying in the same place'.... " (again, direct quotes). Looks like an "ism" to me.

...well I love nascar, swear every now and then, more when I drink, and I like to drink, and yes I smoke and try not to offend anyone while doing so, but I do brush my teeth...it sounds to me that these folks would be more fun to party with for a week in cancun than some of the upperclass snobs out there!!!

Pissing match? Naw...Im a lover not a fighter. :)

I think you completey misunderstood my point. My point was that at any given week the clientelle at a specific location may vary. One week you get decent people the next you may have bad experiences because of others. This is more true for smaller resorts like the BBG.

So I compared my experience to this lady's saying that maybe

she just went there at the same time as some groups who were acting like idiots. I was actually reinforcing the opinion that not all people who attend the BBG are trash. At least i thought i was.

If you thought otherwise, Im not responsbile for your interpretation of my post. I think the "nascar" statement threw you off.

WIth regard to the smoking comment, maybe you were offended by the word "stink". Sorry about that.

Let me rephrase...most smokers REEK of tobacco. it is the most DISGUSTING habit. So I sympathize with anyone who finds it disgusting. I always tell people they should spend their energy trying to quit smoking, than trying to argue that they have a right to do it. It only makes sense.

Anyway guys relax. My responses arent meant as personal attacks, just statements of my opinions.

Anyway Im going to go cry now cause i leave for Cancun in 4 days, and Goosebumps refuses to party with me. :(

:P :P :P

I am sorry that Kathyluvsun had a bad time at BBG and finds that most people who go there are low class is a shameful statement on her part. People who get drunk act stupid no matter what class they may be.

As for the smoking part I agree both with her and ccc25. The smoking makes me puke and people should keep to themselves with their smoking and be made to pay for making any public area be exposed to the smell of their crappy habit. Sorry, but I hate the smell of it and if you do not like it, those who smoke should stay in their own home to enjoy this disgusting habit.

To quote TA, "We will remove messages that include personal attacks or hostility directed at an individual user or group of users". I guess that's unless that group is those that legally partake in the act of purchasing and using tobacco products. Apparently all hate speach is not created equal.
