Took my kids on both tours last week. You can get both of them as all inclusive tours which means that snorkel gear and a meal are included in your purchase price. It works out cheaper than paying for those things at the park. You are required to leave a deposit of some sort ( drivers license, hotel key or cash I think to get your snorkel gear at Xcaret, Xel Ha was cash only for deposit for the snorkel gear). The meal at both parks was surpisingly good ( better than anything we had at the resort we stayed at in Cancun). Xcaret is great for the variety of things to do there. It's kind of a water park, zoo, theater rolled in to one. My one complaint about the place is that it must have been laid out by someone after a little too much tequila paths winding every which way, hence a lot of walking. Xel Ha is much smaller, snorkeling is the main thing there. Again remember to bring cash for deposits $10 per head I think. The tour of Tulum is after the stop at Xel Ha. You are at Tulum for a couple of hours, which was plenty for my son. At Tulum you are allowed to bring in your camera but they want you to pay extra to bring in a camcorder. Both Xcaret and Xel Ha require your suntan lotion to be biodegradeable. They will take away any other type of lotion. The tour to Xcaret is a much longer day if you stay for the show, a must in my opinion. Last week was my second time to both of the parks, first time for my kids when I asked them later which they liked better they could'nt decide, they had a great time at both.
