And, no it wasn't a well preserved Spring Breaker. ;-)

Local Reports are indicating that Archaeologists have discovered the remains of an approximately 10,000 year old man in the Tulum region during excavations and exploration. The body, remains from the Pleistocene period from history, a time of Ice Ages and Mammoths was found deep in a cenote/ ancient well burial site. The site further indicates the history still waiting to be uncovered in the Yucatan and is believed to be of a culture that both predates the Olmec and the Maya Civilizations.

If the dating is correct, the ancient burial could be among the oldest ever found in the Americas.

C~ the information was in multiple local newspapers online edition this morning, below the addy for Novedades;

www.novenet.com.mx/seccion.php…

Diary of the Yucatan had the best take and most in depth coverage but the story has been pushed off the page for later news.

I wonder if the man they found was Poppa? He has been missing for a few months.
