We enjoyed our dinner at La Madonna in the La Isla Shopping Plaza. The decor is really strange, but nice. Gigantic statues, all around the main room and a painting of the Mona Lisa that takes up an entire wall. But after my initial thought that it was strange, I became comfortable with it. There are several intimate ables for two on the second floor in little terraces overlooking the main dining room, which I understand must be reserved in advance. If you are looking for something romantic, you might consider reserving one of these tables. The bread and olive oil for dipping were excellent. I had tomato soup and my girlfriend had lobster bisque. Both made and served beautifully. Entres were seafood, and both were good - nothing really outstanding. Wine was by the glass and a good Italian vintage. Dinner was somewhat expensive. Four glasses of wine and our dinners came to $130+. No complaints, but for Cancun, we thought it was somewhat expensive. Service was excellent, but may be due to the fact that we were somewhat early, and there was no crowd. We would go back.
