My sister, brother-in-law, and I stayed at this hotel in May 3003. Cancun has always been my dream vacation and thank God the rest of the vacation was fantastic because if my opinion was solely based on this hotel I would NEVER go back. The service was HORRIBLE. We had to ask every day for 3 towels instead of 2 since there were 3 of us. I spoke with the housekeeping staff , in Spanish, no less, the manager of the hotel and tour director and still they couldn't get it right. The food was outrageously expensive ($11 for a hamburger) and only so-so. The pool was nice but hated the hotel so much that we were hardly ever in it. There is no air conditioning in the lobby (it is an open palapa) and if you stand down there late at night you will probably be attacked by the millions of bees that live in the top of it. The ONLY good thing about this hotel was the bartender in the lobby bar. He was a great source of information about the area and very friendly. If you want to go to Cancun stay in one of the Royal Resorts. They are gorgeous and the service is excellent. The hotel is beautiful but the service is so bad that the it doesn't outweigh the ambience. We filled out a comment card when we checked out and have NEVER heard a response. Poor service indeed!

We just came back from staying at this hotel. I read a lot of reviews, and after considering them all, I am glad we made this choice. The hotel is beautiful, the staff was wonderful and extremely friendly, the rooms were clean, the maids cleaned our room twice! We were also surprised by the turndown service of the beds with chocolates by the pillow. The upper pool was drained, and they were working on it, but the lower pool which was big enough for plenty of people. The was a board near where you would pickup the towels, letting you know what activities there are and the times. The beach staff was very eager to help us with lounge chairs and also with our drinks. I would definitly come back to this to hotel. We loved it and we loved Cancun!

Wow! Just spent 8 days with my Wife at the Condessa and loved it. 8/15 to 8/22. This was my first trip to Mexico, so I can't compare it to other resorts, but I honestly believe that the only way I could have received better service was to have a personal Butler. The service was awsome. I opted the all-inclusive plan and am glad I did. Their prices are a little high and the AI made it so I didn't have to worry about it. We still ate out a few nights and several lunches outside the hotel. It cost a little more but was still worth it. The rooms were cleaned twice a day, but it seemed that the times varied. I left a couple $ every other day for the maid and seemed to have great service.
We were fortunate to have a pool ocean view from the inside corner, so no problem there. Some reviews of this Hotel called the food "average".
Don't believe it. The food was AWSOME! The gourmet recipe's and the presentation was strickly top notch! Anything you wanted was available.
The Kalmia resturant had 3 different buffets throughout the day starting at 6:30am and closed late at night, and YES you could order from the menu at anytime. The Kambu resturaunt had and awsome lunch buffet & menu but they only were open from 11:00am to 5:00pm -great finger foods for the poolside and a seafood grill to die for. The Rosata restuarant was excellent and was the finest food and service as I have had anywhere. The night we went to the Rosata we were the first reservation to arrive at 7pm. The entire Rosata Staff incl. Kitchen manager were at attention to greet us as we entered the restaurant. I was pleased with the wine selection as well. The only (small) dissapointment was that the lobby bar did not open until 5pm. I enjoy a mid afternoon drink but had to go out to the KAMBU or the pool in the afternoon for a drink. Later at night was nice in the lobby to get a great drink. I set up a chess board and had several challenges and met some great people this way. The Hotel had a guy come in and play an alto Saxaphone to the rythyms of his stereo that he set up. It was relaxing. I found the tour guys next to the front desk to have the best prices. Better than the Aqua-tours at the pool and better than anybody in the group tour room by the gift shop. The Hotel had the best exchange rate I saw advertised in Cancun. 10.6 to 1 and later in the week went to 10.83 to 1. I really believe that you would have to try hard to have a bad experience here. We plan to return to Cancun someday because we couldn't do it all, but we agreed that it would be back at the Condessa. Why go somewhere else and hope that they could match the service of the condessa? Adios and have fun! Jack C.

I just returned from a 7 night stay at the Fiesta American Condesa hotel. We stayed from Aug 18th to the 25th. After reading all the great reviews on this site, i decided to book this hotel, and i am so happy we did. The lobby and all the resturants are amazing, the staff from the front desk to the waiters in the resturants are all very friendly and cant get you drinks fast enough. I Traveled with my wife and my 15 yr old daughter and her best friend, we had 2 rooms in the main tower(rms #354 and 362) the veiw was fantastic overlooking the pool and the ocean, and the sunsets on the lagoon side were georgous.We traveled with friends who stayed at the cancun palace and they liked our hotel so much better that they hung out at our hotel the entire trip, I highly recomend the Condesa to anyone coming to cancun, and if you have any questions, please feel free to write me an e-mail and i will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
