I just returned from Cancun (my second trip) yesterday, and I couldn't wait to come on here and write a review. It was thanks to these reviews that my best friend and I avoided what what could have been a stay at a horrible hotel. Previously I stayed at the Marriott and it was great but we needed a better bargain, and got an amazing deal at hotwire for 7 nights at the F.A. Condesa. There was not the slightest problem with anything! Upon check-in we were immediately given a quick tour and escorted to our beautiful, clean, room (which actually looked EXACTLY like the pictures) with the balcony we requested. Everything was marble, and furniture appeared top notch and brand new. The pool and grounds were the most beautiful and well maintained I've seen in a while. Every time we stepped outside someone was sweeping, cleaning, or gardening. The views and grounds everywhere were just impecable and the huge palapa and lobby were breathtaking. In the past I've had to fight for palapas by the ocean but at this hotel there were at least 75, so there was always one available somewhere. There were plenty of cushioned lounge chairs by either the HUGE two-level pool or spread through-out the expansive beach front. There was nice relaxing music playing by the pool and beach bar, and not the loud, constant games & activities atmosphere that got really obnoxious at the Marriott if you just wanted to lounge and read a book. There was plenty of pool volleyball and even pool basketball if that's what you were looking for though. The waiters by the pool and beach were so attentive, nice, and funny. We really felt welcomed over all by the entire staff. The concierage made us dinner (& bar!) reservations almost every night and always had suggestions or coupons (such as welcome drinks) for us, which was a really nice personalized touch. I did not find the food at the hotel to be any more expensive than eating out, and eating well at that. We often got room service for breakfast and ate at our balcony and it was excellent. The food at Kambu by the pool, or just from the beach or pool waiters was excellent and reasonably priced. 4 cans of beer cost about $12 and the great frozen drinks were about $7 which I found perfectly reasonable considering their quality and service. We never ate dinner in the hotel because there are so many amazing restaurants in the area and it was nice to get out at night. There were people of all ages at the hotel - young single people like us, familys, couples, everything - but most important everyone was very friendly. Thankfully though, no spring breakers! I would HIGHLY reccomend this hotel to anyone, it is truely apropriately rated as 4 diamond by the AAA. I plan on definately returning, as soon as I save up the money again, or convince my family to go! I can't believe the caliber hotel we got for the price! You'd have to be a pretty difficult traveler to be dissapointed by this hotel. (If you're worried about your reservation through an online service, just do what we did and call to confim it - everything was fine)
