First of all, as I travel on business regularly and stay at nice hotels, I have become a bit of "hotel snob", so if I write a review saying this hotel is outstanding, it definately is!

We stayed in Moon Tower, overlooking both the ocean and pool (Rm 519 and 517) which was fantastic as we could see everything that was going on.

Pool: Excellent for all ages. For those who have families with younger and older kids, this pool is perfect. One pool is 1 - 1 1/2 ft deep with a deeper pool(starting at 4' 7" deep, immediately next to it separated by a wall for safety. The pool temperature is perfect and the cleanliness top class. The staff scrub it every morning!
Poolside staff very helful. Don't pack your towels to bring, they have some here!

Rooms: We didn't encounter the uncomfortable beds that others have reported. Can't say anything negative here.

Staff: I have never come across staff like this. They were helpful, friendly and courteous.

Food and drinks: Buffet available in restaurant for breakfast and dinner and poolside restaurant for lunch. Fantastic selection without being overpriced. Take advantage of the 2 for 1 happy hour drinks! Ask at check in for the Fiesta Club Card.
Poolside and Beach Bars have a great selection.

Transport: Don't take a cab for local travel which can be costly. The route 1 and 2 bus costs equivalent to 65 cents and will stop for you even if you aren't at a bus stop ( there is a stop right outside on the main road)

Satyed at this hotel for 5 days before moving to another resort all inclusive resort south of Playa Del Carmen.

Grounds/Apperence - The grounds are very well kept all though some of the palm trees are still pretty shabby and new due to the hurricane. The hotel is much nicer on the inside than it looks from the out side.

Room - We had a ocean front room which was very clean. The bathroom is really small but functional. The air conditioning worked great. Furniture and matresses showing a bit of age.

Food - A bit pricey but very good. Always had a great selection and presentation.

Pool - Kept very clean and plenty of lounge chairs. Not enough shade and the pool bar can get really crowded. The palm trees around the pool are pretty sad but will come back. Great drink service.

Staff/Service - Can't say enough about this, and would be the only reason I would return. The service is excellent everywhere and very fast.

Beach - More than enough shade here and palapa's for everyone. The surf can get a bit rough but I like that for boogie boarding. I did not encounter any rocks while in the water.

All and all a great place to stay if you can get a resonible price. There are parts of the resort showing it's age but nothing serious. I liked the FA Coral Beach better. The staff make up for anything the resort lacks, I think they just simply have some more work to do from the hurricane damage and it is being done. We enjoyed the stay.

When we arrived at the Americana Fiesta Condesa, we had an idea the hotel would be nice, but not this nice. The whole staff is warm and friendly and they upgraded us to a European suite that overlooked the ocean and pool. The hotel layout (in a U shape) is perfect as you get a perfect view of everything going on. We enjoyed the Lobby Lounge happy hour (best time to go) the servers, DJ, and appertizers. The drinks can get a little expensive; especially if you are hanging out at the beach all day so watch your $$$. Otherwise, there are no complaints from us as this is one of the finest hotel establishments we have ever stayed in. It was nice to come back in the evening with our bed ready and chocalate on the bed. We were sad to go as everyone was so gracious to us. We will return in the near future and this is where we will be staying. If you want a quiet hotel with a diverse crowd and all the amenities aboard, stay at the Americana Fiesta Condesa.

We recently stayed in the FA condesa and dislikes a couple things about our stay. Here's the list: All food and drinks are extremely expensive without the all inclusive package, our room card got de-activated halfway through our stay, the bed were extremely uncomfortabel, the life guards wouldn't all swimming in the ocean during red flag days( but the sign says "swim at your own risk"), and we tried having our friends from another hotel come over and our room one day and the securtiy guards would allow them. Now, were not talking a bunch of party animals, they were our friends from back home ( another couple) who happened to be on vacation the same time as us. That's great that there trying to control the safety of all guest and keep a quite enviorment inside there hotel but it seems a little strange and a bit too uptight. On a lighter side, the other staff was really nice and the ocean beach is really nice but we will never be staying here again.
