myself and my husband stayed at dreams resort for 1 week and had a fantastic time. it was our honeymoon so we were hoping it would be really good and it was. the resort had 4 restaurants and the food was fantastic in all of them in particular the seaside grill. the bars were lovely plenty of cocktails. the beaches were lovely too and nice and quiet at this time so no problem in getting a sun bed. our room was lovely and very spacious with ocean view we upgraded to a bigger suite so it was nice. the service was excellent the staff could not have been more helpful and very polite. the dolpin lagoon is in the resort so its really nice to be able to swim with dolphins. i would def recommend this resort

I want to start with the small list of negatives about the hotel. Our room service experience was horrible. We ordered 2 hot dogs, waited an hour and when they arrived they were cold. On another occasion it took them 3 trips to get it right. These were not our only problems but no one wants to read a laundry list. The people who delivered the food were always kind and professional, I believe the problem is with the system used and the order takers/fillers. Although I had heard rave reviews about the housekeeping service, I was less than thrilled. We were there 7 nights and only got the paper delivered 3 times, no towel animals like I have heard described and we had to call 3 different days to have the refrigerators refilled despite leaving a tip and note asking for beers and water. at one point the red/blue (hot/cold) stickers in our shower were switched and my son got quite a scare in the shower when the hot water came out instead. Lastly, please be careful if you are there when it rains. Many of the steps do not have the grip tape on them and I fell HARD near the lobby. My bruise 3 weeks later is still hanging on. Be sure to pay attention!
Now onto the good stuff... the beaches are so great, there are two to chose from so if one is too rough, just head to the other side. the people that rent the snorkel gear and other items were so friendly and helpful. my kids loved the breakfast buffet at the world cafe and the one offered in the tower in the morning was great as well. much smaller but perfect for those ready to start the day. The staff at the hotel was wonderful and our check in at the tower was easy and quick. We loved Himitsu and ate there several times. We had a great time at the beach swing bar and made some very good friends while sitting on the swings.
We really enjoyed our vacation, the room was fantastic. Club one bedroom jacuzzi suite on the 15th floor of the tower, the views were killer! one balcony overlooking the ocean and gazebo and one overlooking the resort. it was neat to see the dolphins even from our room.
overall, it was a great vacation and i would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away. please do not be expecting a true 5 star hotel but expect smiling faces and a whole lot of fun for your family.

We stayed for a week with a room overlooking the Dolphin pool.
Pros:

1. Location - surrounded by water on three sides, secluded, yet walking distance to the closest mall with night life.
2. Balcony with a hammock - can watch dolphins all day long and hear them splash at night
3. The beach is on the Isla Mujeres side is perfect, no waves, very shallow waters.
4. Hotel was about 50% full so plenty of space on the beach and no wait in the restaurants.
5. Maid service twice a day, and very fast to respond. Our son spilled some Coke on the bed and service came within 5-10 minute to replace the sheets.
6. Choice of food - 4 different restaurants to choose from (not all open at the same time).
7. Spa is excellent - well worth the $.
8. Pretty decent gym with towels and equipment.
9. Yoga classes twice a day overlooking the ocean.
10. Swimming pools - 3 swimming pools with a kiddie pool. There were some activities at the pool as well (basketball, volleyball, etc)

Cons:

1. Since it's an all inclusive concept - service at the restaurants was slow at times
2. Quality of food was ok, nothing to rave about, but decent enough. Would like to see more choice for kids food - it was basically the same everyday at the buffet - hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers.
3. Entertainment was a bit on a light side - perfect for us, since we just wanted a relaxing vacation, but some people might be disappointed.
4. Since the hotel wasn't very full, explorer's club (kid's club) was often pretty empty, so not much fun for our son.
5. Using Internet is a big of a pain - couldn't get wireless to work in my room, and to use it in the Business center you need an access code each 15 mins.

We were down there for four days. Had a great time from start to finish. We loved our ocean view rooms. The buffet food was excellent. The service was stellar.

If we were going to make any complaints, it would be that, 1) the beach for the resort is pretty small. 2) The Asian restaurant was pretty unimpressive. In fact, I would stop just short of saying that the food was bad.
