We were upgraded at check in to a suite with ocean and pool view. Breakfast and dinner were also good.

We read the rooms were recently renovated and will go again in May 2008. We selected this property despite owning a Mayan Palace time share.

Everything was great about this hotel! Guestrooms were fresh, clean, oversized (with loveseat) and comfortable. Pool and beach area was fabulous, with plenty of chairs and areas to sit so that you didn't have to sit on top of anyone. The service was phenomenal, especially in all the bars and restaurants. Seafood restaurant has great Friday lobster night at a very reasonable price, the 3 meal a day restaurant is excellent - and both the lobby bar and sports bar have two separate happy hours (2 for 1 drinks!) so that you can attend both in the same night. The sports bar has satellite TV so that you can watch American sports without any problem. The staff is so friendly and helpful, one of the best hotels i've ever stayed at. TIP: take the shuttle bus from airport to hotel for $12 pp vs. $53 cab ride because the hotel is one of the first hotel stops (short bus ride).

We just got back from staying at the Hilton Cancun and had a great time! We'd definitely stay there again. We booked deluxe oceanview rooms which had nice terraces with beautiful views of the pool area and ocean beyond. Our beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The soundproofing in the rooms isn't great, but we've found that to be true where ever we've stayed in Mexico. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our rooms came with breakfast buffet which was very good. The poolside food is fine. We ate dinner at Mitachi's twice, Once the food was good, and once it was terrible. We had better luck going off site for dinner. We liked Casa Maguey, Paloma Bonita, and Harry's. Be prepared; every thing is expensive! Lots of people get up early to put towels out by the pool, but even if you don't do that, you can find a nice chair. The pools and pool area is wonderful. There's lots of space to spread out. We are good ocean swimmers, so we swam in the ocean every day despite the red flags. There are places where you can get in and out of the water without having to deal with rocks. We went to Isla Mujeres one day and had a great time. My teenagers thought it was a blast to drive the golf cart. This was our first trip to Cancun, and we will definitely go back.

My family and I spent 6 days at the Hilton Cancun. It was a great experience. If you're comparing it to other resorts I think it will stack up very nicely. If you're comparing it to "all inclusives" I can't comment.

The staff is very good. The front desk, cleaning, resort, and restaurants staffs are all very good. There were several comments about (a) cost and (b) restaurant quality. I think the cost of the food and services are very comparable to other hotels. Some of the rental fees for things like tennis racquets are a bit much, but nothing crazy. I felt a "little bit" nickled-and-dimed. The restaurant quality is pretty good. I would rank them:
1. Spices - nice buffet, good quality
2. Mitachi - two meals, prices are reasonable
3. Pizza & Pasta - better than expected, good for kids
4. Sports Bar - not bad if you want to watch a sporting event

It is great to be able to call the course, request tee times and stroll out to the course. It is a nice course and very convenient. The twilight tee times are a bit more reasonable.

I would recommend that you select a Deluxe Room or a Villas Room. I think the extra money is worth it.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
