After much research we decided on a Sun Palace All Inclusive plan for our family vacation during August 2004. We couldn't have been more pleased. Some reviewers complained about the cleanliness, food, etc., but we couldn't find much to complain about. The room was very clean and just as pictured on the website. We had a Jr. Suite and looked out over the main pool and ocean. The beach was wonderful and quiet as the hotel is small and farther down away from the main strip. The city bus ride down to the malls and main hotel zone (6 pesos) was quick and readily available. Take the bus instead of the Taxi.

Our room and tour offerings were ready as promised and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. I would advise you to get involved in the resort activities (water sports at the lagoon, beach and pool volleyball, nightly entertainment) right away. The staff will get to know you and make your stay very enjoyable. Although 5 excursions were offered, we couldn't get our kids (12 and 16) to leave the resort. The only tour we went on was Chichen Itza. We took the trip with the Night Time portion, but would advise keeping it to a day trip. If you haven't visited the ruins, I would definitely visit this site.

The three restaurants on site offered plenty of variety for our family. Made to order omelets and smoothies at breakfast and grilled to order tacos (shrimp, beef, pork, or chicken) for lunch along with room service any time of day were the highlights.

If you are looking for a party type hotel, you might want to look at one of the other Palace resorts. For a fun, enjoyable time in a smaller resort where you will receive personalized attention the Sun Palace will not disappoint.

From the time we got to Sun Palace, This staff rocks. I would like to say THANK YOU TO Laura, Martin, Ceasar, Daniel The whole pool crew. The evenings are beautiful and the beach was AWESOME. Make sure you join in with the staff to get the most out of your stay. I would recommend staying more than 4 days. TOO SHORT. I miss everyone that my family met. See you all next time.

Just arrived home from Cancun(July30-Aug8,04)
Can't tell you in words how realaxing the Sun Palace and it location and beach were!
I have read reviews and reviews about all the all-inclusive resorts in Cancun. This one comes as advertised...small, clean, great rooms (insist on ocean view with balcony) my son thought that was one of the highlights the room I mean! The beach area is fantastic. I read about rocks etc. in the reviews ,there were some....but they were about 100 feet from shore and in front of the condos next door, so somebody was just looking to whine. The food was abundant and the buffets were alittle predictable(which my kids 14, 12 and my wife thought was good as you knew what you were getting and could get it anytime of day. The restaurants changed its menu every day lots of variety and BeeF!! It was very good as well!!
Room service! Breakfast in bed every morning started our day and Club sandwiches every afternoon after a day on the beach or pool, it was perfect! It was always less than 30 minutes!
Went to Moon Palace, to spread out, over crowded and a real bad beach looked in at the RIU's and alot others in the hotel zone, too crowded too noisy and lots of drunks wow! And their beaches were not big and had to be maintained to look natural.
If you want to take it easy relax and be treated very well, ignore the whiners and pick the Sun Palace.
Over booked nah, just people arriving before the posted check in time and refusing to wait, take a later flight ,suntan on the beach whatever, your room will be waiting!
I highly recommend this place.

Everyday was wonderful! I have never met such a nice, friendly and accomodating staff ever. They went out of their way to make our stay great. Some people told us that there were other Palace Resorts that were nicer, but we went and visited them, and we liked the Sun Palace the best. We had nice rooms and the people were more friendly. WE LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT!!
