From the moment we checked in, the staff at Sun Palace made sure our every need was addressed! As honeymooners, we were treated to a special dinner, and made to feel at home in every way. This resort was certainly more low-key than the other Palace resorts, which we appreciated. The smaller size and capacity of the resort made for a very personal feel - we had the pleasure of being helped by the same people day after day. While the beach wasn't the best, it was an easy bus ride to the Cancun Palace, where you could enjoy the surf and use the boogie boards. The other nearby Palace resorts also allow you to enjoy meals at other restaurants, which, if you're staying for awhile, is great. I recommend the Jungle Tour, as well as the tours to Tulum and Isla Mujeres. Good times! I would stay at another Palace resort in a heartbeat...

This was an absolutely wonderful vacation! The staff can not do enough to please you. They were friendly, attentive, and just plain wonderful. The food was very good and the service was unmatched. Our room was very nice with a breathtaking view of the ocean. I highly recommend this resort if you like rest and relaxation. When we wanted to take it up a notch we would hop on the bus for 60 cents and go to the Cancun Palace.

We stayed at Sun Palace from oct 30th until nov 7th. The service was wonderful. Our room was a junior suite and was very comfortable with a kingsize bed and the room was extremely clean. Breakfast and lunch buffets were the best. Dinner choices seemed a little limited. We had room service for dinner two nights. Again limited menu but food was excellent and we didn't have to wait long. (25 minutes at the most) Bus service to downtown is easy and buses are frequent. As far as drinks, they will make you anything and everything you want. The staff can't seem to do enough for you. We did tip extra sometimes and they seemed very grateful. Unfortunately the beach had been washed out by Ivan but you can always take a bus to beach or Cancun palace for the beach. We visited both and thought that sun palace was the best. Would highly recommend this resort.

I took my wife to Mexico for her 40th birthday. This was our first trip to Mexico, so I didn't know what to expect. When we landed in Mexico and made it through customs we were bombarded by people yelling at me to come with them. Thinking this was one more hurdle I had to clear before entering the county I followed Gilligan. Turned out he was trying to sell me a tour of HIS hotel offering me free meals/trips etc. Not normally a rube I shelled out 40 american dollars, received a voucher and off my wife and I went to find our luggage. As I turned around I realized that eveyone that came in on our flight was gone. Panic set in and I frantically looked around for our luggage. Luckily I found it all stacked and waiting. Going through the last gate was heartstopped as I pushed the big red button and waited for a green light to flash or worse a red one. What a system. needless to say we missed our shuttle to the Sun Palace and after much discussion with some van drivers we caught a ride to our resort. We arrived hot and tired.

Here is where things changed, the air conditioning was a welcome change. They took our luggage and provided us with a cool drink while checking in. The hotel was spacious and clean. The staff very friendly and courteous. We had a jacuzzi in our room and that was a pleasure to use. The showers were clean and the water nice and warm. Every day our room was cleaned and snacks left on our pillow.

The beach sand was a pleasure to walk on. The sun's heat is deceptive so limited your time in it. We had several free excursions as part of our package so we spent way too much time on a bus seeing the Ruins. Never again. See one and spend the rest of the time relaxing. each excursion ends with a shopping stop. I didn't come to Mexico to shop so I found this part of the trip to be annoying.

The food was good but lacked flavor. It didn't occur to me to use salt and pepper till the last day. Then the flavor picked up. It is not americanized food so be prepared. The chickens are not Tysons. :) Hamburgers even tasted different. Something I wasn't prepared for. Once I realized they don't add spice because of the heat index I spiced up my food and it was delicious.

The drinks are weak. All inclusive. So I switched to beer. Finally after adding a lime it tasted better. Just ask them to double up on the liquor.

I did recoup my $40 dollars by sitting through a time share presentation. Palace resorts gave me $40 for sitting through it plus $200 palace money. We purchased all our gifts with it.

All in all avoid the time share people, ignore the beach peddlers, and pick up your luggage and head straight to the hotel and your vacation will be enjoyable

Got back 28th Oct and had a great time. Im 16, i mean errrrm 18, from england, n i had the best time ever. the entertainer pool type people were proper funny n really our only mates for the holiday because it was full of couples. the nitelife is good, bit pricey, but good none the less. get down to the coco bongo, its crazy.

Got a bit fed up of the food in the evening because it was same old same old every nite for two weeks but we did go to the other palace resorts which wernt as good as sun palace because it was less familiar. every1 workin there is proper sound, really nice people, especially Felipe and Little Monster.

I really wish i could afford to go back sometime soon and see all the gang again, especially told Filipe because i miss him singing to me round the pool. I miss the 3 o'clock bingo. arrrr i miss little monster n towel guy and jorge always being in a bad mood with us, and felipe the tallest mexican ever..... arrrrrr... this is all getting a bit mushy now so i shall be quiet and leave u to read the other reviews mates!

soooooo....
Shalalala, Shalalala, Ayyyyyyyy, Goodbye!!
