the beach was nice and so was the pool area. the room was also good standard. the restaurants are not that nice. we ate mexican most of the evenings. we visited the italian and the japanese restaurant one time each - not a success. their steakes and their guacamole were fine. all food and drink were included - nice concept to order free drinks from the beach and have them brought to you. we also ordered some chips with guacamole. we went on a snorkelling trip, which was also included, but the site we saw was not that impressive. the trip to chichen itza on the other hand was worthwhile. the water is made from reverse osmosis - so remember to bring some fresh evian or other kind of real spring water. we bought the stay from ebay.com (from people who sell their timeshares), but we paid directly to the hotel (and only a minor fee to the timeshare owner).

My new husband and I stayed at Sun Palace for our honeymoon in May. We stayed through my mother-in-law's timeshare through RCI. I would recommend the Sun Palace to anyone taking a trip to Cancun. The rooms and the whole resort was very clean. The staff were very friendly and more than willing to get you want you wanted/needed.

The food was decent.. nothing too exciting. The Italian restaurant at Sun Palace was the best of the bunch. I would also recommend the steak restaurants at any of the Palaces and I would also recommend the hibachi restaurant at the Cancun Palace down the street-- it was a lot of fun and pretty yummy food!! I also enjoyed the 24hour room service.. we took advantage of this feature many times and more often than not, our food arrrived sooner than the time range they had given us. I loved the Lobby Bar at night!! They often had some kind of live entertainment and the best part were the games! They had Jenga, dominoes, chess, etc that you could play while you had a drink!

We did utilize the spa for a couples massage on our last day. The massages were very good but expensive, probably around the same if not more than what you would pay in the US.

We visited Beach and Cancun Palace as well. Beach Palace was kind of dead (we went right after the swine flu scare!) and as the pictueres show... didn't really have much of a beach. Cancun Palace seemed nice and we would possibly consider going there if we returned to Cancun.

We did two excursions - the trip to Tulum and Isla Mujeres. Both trips were a lot of fun and worth it. Most of the trips, including this one were all day trips so be prepared to arrive back at the hotel tired from a long day.

We only saw one of the shows the hotel staff puts on - the fire and drum show- which was great.

Again, we had a great honeymoon and I would recommend this hotel to anyone inquiring about cancun!

This was our 3rd trip to Cancun and our 1st stay with Sun palace and they had a lot to live up to based on our experience at our previous resort. Our main reson for trying another resort was the wonderful reviews and ADULTS ONLY!!! They not only met our expectations but exceeded them!! From the moment we arrived we were greeted with champagne and a carnation and from then on we received impeccable service. The staff was very courteous and we never encountered anyone who did not try to make our stay absolutely a wonderful experience. The room was the best we had ever stayed in and was immaculate! Our maid visited the room twice a day (unless we had do not disturb light on) and did an exceptional job. The refrigerator and bar was well stocked and was restocked daily with pepsi,dt pepsi,dt coke,coke,ginger ale, beer, apple juice, and orange juice. The only thing we lacked from our previous stays was Corona, which they do not have. The restaurants were absolutely wonderful. We never had a bad meal. Our favorites were the Italian and the Mexican at which we both ordered fillet mignon (because of previous reviews we had read) that was the best we had ever tasted!! They have a quiet pool and an activity pool which were both very nice and they have activities all day long. If you do go and plan on playing water polo or volley ball in the pool I highly reccomend taking aqua shoes because it will scuff up the bottom of your feet. They also have nightly shows and entertainment which is different each night. We went to the Celebrity show, Fire show (on the beach), and kareoke. All were very good and highly recommended. Also they have many excursions that are free but we only did the zip line which was a Blast!! Our main focus was to just relax and spend time on the beach but many other couples spoke highly of the excursions. This resort also has beach and pool service in which you not only can order drinks but food! Included in your all inclusive price also is 24 hour room service which only took at the most 20 minutes. I also forgot to mention the room has a safe that you program with your own code. I cannot say enough about how fabulous this resort is and we plan on extending our next stay to 10 days!!!

Well what can I say about the Sun Palace that hasn’t been said already in the other fantastic reviews.

As the title says our stay from the 25/05/09 until 8/6/09 for our honeymoon was Absolutely perfect.

We have absolutely no complaints at all about this superb hotel.

The staff are great and very hard working, there wasn’t a day went by when people weren’t busy cleaning or polishing or some other work being done.

They are all extremely polite and the staff looked after us (and our room) Superbly

The food is varied, plentiful and delicious. And the beach is fantastic

Our room on the 8th floor was great and the view was stunning.

And really I don’t know what else to say.

Book the Sun palace you WON’T regret it.
