We went to Fat Tuesdays before the Booze Cruise on a Sunday - for our complimentary "sample" drink that was included with the cruise. The waiters were not very nice and hard to get to come to your table, except when they wanted us to do shots! Our waiter was looking to confuse us on our change when we actually bought a couple drinks after the sample. He also actually told me what I should tip him! Oh well, they gotta make their money you know? Once he realized that I undertood how to convert dollars into pesos - and I was going to tip well each time I ordered something, we were buddies. The more people that came - the nicer the waiter became so he could get us girls to do more shots! We didn't stay at Fat Tuesday's when the cruise finished because it was WAY too crowded at that point. Fat Tuesdays itself and the drinks were great. I loved the outside patio area and I had missed those drinks since the Fat Tuesdays in Atlanta all closed!!

I was in Cancun in April; went to Fat Tuesday's on a Tuesday and I definitely recommend not going on a Tuesday. It was so crowded. People were either stepping on you or spilling there drinks because it was that packed. I bought the all-you-can-drink armband from my hotel for $35. I wouldn't recommend this either. You had to wait in long lines and you could only get drinks at a certain bar. I wish I had read others reviews before my trip to Cancun.

What a waste of time and money. We paid $35 for the open bar option on a Tuesday Night, but little did we know that it didn't include their world-famous daiquiris. That was the first disappointment. All that was included was 10oz cups of beer (more like 8oz after all the foam settled) and warm mixed drinks made with terribly generic alcohol. Absolutely some of the worst drinks I have ever tasted. Looking past that, I thought we'd still have a good time, that is until everyone and their mother showed up and the lines got LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG! How long, well let's just say we waited 45 minutes for 2 beers. 45 minutes! Open bar visitors were only allowed to go to 3 little bars all the way in the back, each with 1-2 bartenders. The bartenders were rude and wouldn't take care of you unless you flashed them a $10....In fact, I witnessed with my own eyes a bartender flipping off a customer who waved a one dollar bill in front of him. How rude is that? Most of the customers present were in their teens and early 20s, giving the place an atmosphere of a high school party gone bad. I've been to Cancun 10 times, and have been to every club there, and have NEVER been treated so poorly and felt so ripped off as I did during my visit to Fat Tuesday.

Here are two things that the place has going for it....It is right on the beach and you can actually sit out on the beach to enjoy a cocktail. If you decide to do this, do it on any day other than Tuesday. Also, their daiquiris remain world-class. I would recommend visiting some afternoon or early evening just for one of those drinks! Otherwise, don't even bother visiting the place...you'll be most disappointed.

It's really big, good music, lotsa people... but don't pay for the open bar unless you don't mind drinking 7up, tequila and sex on the beach. That's pretty much all they served us!
