My fiance and I were enjoying the show from our VIP balcony most of the night. We decided to leave the club around 1:30, far earlier than the other customers that night. What happened once we tried to leave was traumatic, horrifying, and similar to nightmares I have had in the past.
We spent 30+ minutes trying to find the exit. Over the course of that time, we probably asked at least 10 different employees where the exit was. The ones on the left of the building told us the exit was all the way on the other side. The employees we asked on the right side of the building pointed to the far left side for the exit. It was as if they were playing some kind of joke on us. Finally someone pointed us towards a green door that was guarded by an employee who controlled a small masterlock over the door. When we asked to exit, he said the door was for employees only. He even allowed employees to exit in front of our face, only to lock the door again when we tried to leave. This door was clearly the intended exit as it led to directly into the shopping mall. We then asked him where, if not the door he was guarding, was the exit. He laughed and pointed to the opposite side of the building. We turned around to a crowd of 2,000+people, and after 10 minutes, we failed to cover more than 10 feet amongst the over-capacity crowd. People began to push, shove, and grab. It had now been 30 minutes, and no one would let us out of the building. It reminded me of a sceen from the movie Hostel (some building lures foreign tourists, only to trap them in, play mind games with them and ultimately murder or rob them). I finally escalated to swearing at the manager, who also pointed me to the door with the guard and master lock. I asked him "if that is the exit, then walk us there, because your employee will not let us out. He has the door locked!" He smirked and shook his head, as if this was expected. Several other couples were at the locked door asking to leave, however they clearly were not as far along in the journey as we were. The manager looked around to make sure no one was looking, only to lead us to a small "emergency exit" that led us down 5 flights of stairs to the dumpster, and we were finally out.
I have never had such a traumatic experience in a club in my life. There is nothing like be trapped in a building that is over capacity in a foreign country where managers and police officers have other interests. I would never go to this club again, it makes me wonder how the other 2,000 were able to get out. I would not recommend this club, unless you want all your worst nightmares to come true.
