This was supposed to be ‘the hot spot’ in Cancun so we went because everyone told us we just had to try it. Unfortunately, we had nothing but trouble from the first minute. We consisted of a group of 6 – 3 couples. 4 of us had the $30 open bar and 2 of us just did the $20 special with two drinks – we weren’t planning on getting hammered. After the 2 of us had bought our bracelets on the street, a man in black said come with me and we buy passed the long line. The other 4 had to stop at the cashier to pay and this annoyed the guy – he said he thought we had all already paid. Obviously, if he would have looked at our wrists, he would have seen only 2 had bracelets. I had a discount card that was supposed to get $4 off for the open bar but the guy said that was only good for another 1/2 hr which I don't think was true. Once we were in and all paid, he led on us a wild running spree up stairs and up escaladers to the main floor. There we stood for 10 minutes while he said he would get us a table. Finally he said to follow him and up more stairs we went to an upper level where we stood toward the front of the floor for 10 minutes until he again said to follow him and to the rear of the floor we went where he had one table and one stool for 6 of us. He said that because we didn’t have a reservation, this was the best he could do. Then, after dragging us all over the club, he expected a tip! Well, come to find out, the floor we were on was only for open bar and when I went downstairs to go to the restroom, they wouldn’t let me back upstairs! The ‘goon’ at the bottom of the stairs, who had looked at my bracelet earlier and let me up now said ‘no- that is for open bar only’. I was livid! When we were with the guy, he let me up, but now, all my friends were upstairs and my husband and I were downstairs and couldn’t go back up! We demanded a manager and after much jacking us around, they finally got me the manager. Unfortunately, by this point we were so mad that I demanded my money back and was very rude to the manager who was trying to be nice. When I told him everything, he offered to get us a table but all I wanted was my $$ and to leave. Come to find out, the man who lead us in didn’t even work for the club. Apparently, he is just friends with everyone and does that to get tips! Our friends also said they had problems with the service, that when one of them ordered 2 drinks, he only gave him one and wouldn’t give him the other until he tipped. They did say the show was good and the entertainment was great, but I would never go back there – not after all the hassle we had. Good luck to you if you decide to go and if a man in black on the street offers to take you in, don’t go! Make sure he works there and has the staff shirt on or has a walkie talkie radio. Also, plan to tip for EVERYTHING!
