Coco Bongo was a great attraction. My husband and I went while on our honeymoon in Cancun. We were entertained the whole time we were there from about 11pm until 3am. They had amazing shows with acrobatics. I couldn't believe all the shows they had--lots of good impersonators. Also, we had a reserved area and Gustavo was our waiter for the whole night. He took care of us with our drinks and if anyone would try to come into our area, Gustavo would let them know we were in a reserved area. He was a great addition to the evening.
I would definitely recommened Coco Bongo--it's was a unique experience. FYI--The club is crowded. If possible talk with the travel agent at your hotel or call the club ahead of time to see if you can get a seat reserved at the club.

The last time I was at Coco Bongo I felt the staff was arrogant. I am the biggest Cancun fan ever. It's my favorite place to vacation. I was there right before the swine flu scare - April 15 - April 20 for the 5th time in 18 months. I was accompanied by my friend her daughter and mine. Both girls were 18 and I had never had to have them bring proof before and they would not let us in even after we prepaid the admission. We did get out money back that evening and went to the City. Since when do you need proof in Cancun - and bring their passports into the club - I don't think so. The City was more than happy to accomodate us and we had a great time. They were hassling alot of customers because they think they have a gold mine now. The manager did not care and said go back to your hotel and get your passports. (Another $9 each way). Sorry but I'm glad they suffered the closure due to the swine flu - maybe they will humble out and be nicer to the tourists that support them. They slammed the gates in our faces and I felt I was in a communist country. I have visited the club before and must say it is really fun.

This was a great night out and a must if you are going to Cancun. The entertainment was fabulous.

I would have to say at least one trip to Coco Bongo while you're in Cancun is a must. You don't even have to enjoy dancing - you can just sit back and watch the shows if you'd prefer. Coco Bongo is really more of an entertainment complex than just dance club. First of all, there is a TON of staff to see that your evening is secure and enjoyable. Security hauls troublemakers out quickly. Waitstaff sees that the glass in your hand is never empty. The music is a surprising variety of all ages and types. About every 30 minutes, there is a performance of some sort - trapeze dancers, movie re-enactment, Vegas-style show girls, etc. My only little complaint is that the shows are a bit too frequent as I prefer to have more dancing time.
