Granted I did stay here a while ago, but felt I should still put in my 2 cents since a lot of people had bad things to say about it.

El Pueblito is not a place to stay if you want to enjoy the hotel and/or go on vacation as a family. I went to Cancun when I was 19 and this place was PERFECT for exactly what we wanted. We paid $600 for the flight+hotel from New York City and got just what we expected - a bed, unlimited fries, hot dogs and drinks and a bus waiting outside every night to take us out to the clubs. Yes, there were a few bugs and maybe we had to harass the staff for towels a few times, but that was an hour of our day. We'd sleep on the beach, get trashed at the hotel and get on the bus to where all the nightlife is. It's right next to the Hilton and right on the strip - not far at all. Oasis is mayne 10 mins closer to all the action - if that. So if this is what you want - this place was actually really awesome. The Oasis is thee party hotel for young people, but it was expensive and the foam party sucked from what we heard. It's close to the clubs, it's CHEAP and the beach is the same no matter where you stay.

Best choice, I think, if you're going to Cancun for what it's known for - massive drunken partying!

  • Liked — CHEAP, had young people, close to the partying and CHEAP!
  • Disliked — The ants in the room... but we'd sleep on the beach anyways

I am not a person to complain easily but I booked this holiday based on the information in the brochure. What it said in the brochure and what you actually get are two totally different things. Due to a hericane 9 months prevous to our holiday there was only a third of the hotel up and running without any entertainment, poor choice of food and poor food, no consideration for kids. The bar was three uneven tables pushed together and I could go on and on. If we had paid £1000 for a cheap and chearful holiday then i would of though fair enough but we paid £3000. All I wanted was value for money. If you want to book this holiday then I would try and find out exactley what state the hotel is in. If it's got the facilities as advertised in the brochure then it should be value for money but I would be really surprised if it is. There was a lot of work to be done. The choice is yours!!!

Ok so we went into this vacation a little sceptical because of all of the reviews we had read that said this place was absolutely terrible but the minute we got there our thoughts changed tremedously! They gave a basement room the first night but we went back in the morning and asked for a room with a beach view and they moved us right away. The pool was amazing and everyday they would set up a volleyball net and we would play tequilla volleyball with the staff. They even had a little salsa lesson and some contests by the pool a few days, and if you're bored the slide is loads of fun! There wasn't any nightly entertainment because the hurricane desrtroyed two-thirds of the hotel but it was fine with us because our travel agent had warned us ahead of time. If you are looking to go to clubs at night jimmy is the man to see, he will get you the vip treatment and take the group to a different club everynight and watch out for those who are younger also. The staff at this hotel are so friendly and so helpful. Our rooms were always clean and if you ask for extra towels and tip them daily they will deliver, no problem. The only bad part about this hotle would have to be the food, it wasn't the greatest but it is buffet style so you can always fin something you'll like and you should definitely fill up at lunch because that is when they serve the best food.

Dont be fooled by all of the terrible reviews! I am 18 years old and went down there with a group of ten including a couple other teens and 5 adults. Fisrt off, the service is excellent! The staff is very friendly we were on a first name basis with everyone and they aren't even looking for tips or expecting them. We had an o.k. room the first night but the next night they switched us to an ocean/pool view room. We never once saw any bugs in the rooms we always had hot water and towells were always fresh. After the hurricane I expected the beach to be a little messed up but it was beautiful and the best part was that while we were there we got to watch the sea turtles lay their eggs at night and even touch them!! We went to the club a few nights led by Carlos and he got us in without any kind of wait it was awesome! The pools were great and the daily entertainment was so fun. I have to admit this place is best for a younger crowd or people looking to have fun but my parents had a blast also not to mention I met my now boyfriend there! We are going back next year!!!

We stayed at the ElPueblito from June 24-29 and it was the absolute WORST hotel my family has ever been in. We travel quite often and it doesnt take much to satisfy us! This hotel was half vacant, the staff was very unhelpful, and the food was nearly non existant! They ran out of eggs and cereal for breakfast on our second day and were still out when we left. The food (what little selection there was) was terrible and dinners were reserved again at lunch the following day. Our rooms had no locks on the bathroom, no towel bars, and in my daughters room, no phone! Absolutely NO entertainment at night and the second restaurant NEVER opened. At 12:00 at night the whole grounds were pitch black! Locals snuck in at night without a problem, which made us very uneasy. The only good thing about this hotel was the pool, but even that did not have the "fun&games" they claim to offer on the site. No nonmotorized sports were available either (although they state they have them). Very dissapointing, not anything like their website suggested! BEWARE!!!
