I just love Dos Playas!!! Perfect location, close to downtown Cancun, close to restaurants and bars. Food is great, drinks as well. Right on the beach, Playa Tortugas, which is perfect for swimming, and beside the ferry to Isla Mujeres. Fourth time I am going there (in the end of August). You 'll love it , too!!!

We were on our honeymoon at the Dos Playas hotel and loved every second of it ! we booked our stay at "do cancun" web site (simply search do cancun in google) and the price was at a major discaunt. Even without it, the hotel is worth the price - the rooms are clean, hot water always, the stuff is very very helpfull and just too kind. Go for the all inclusive, you can hang out all day in the hotel, eat well (there is an all day snack bar and the bar is also open), sweem at the pool or at the beach, get a good mexican tant and at the evening go to the zone with all the great clubs (bulldog, coco bongo, xxx and so), it is only 2 km from the hotel- you can go by bus (H1) - 6.5 peso throughout all the line.
If you are looking for a great, in-expensive hotel to get a full return for your money (and more) - Dos Playas is the place for you !

I agree don't be put off by the reviews below, just returned after 2 weeks in Cancun at Dos Playas. This was our 8th time at this hotel, & would never stay anywhere else. I agree this is a 3 star hotel, the complainers seem to want to pay 3 *, but get 5 * treatment, it doesn't work that way, you get what you pay for. The rooms are always clean, the food is good, the staff are fantastic people (treat us like gold), & the grounds are amazing, the sea & beach are beautiful. My husband & I took a walk down the beach to the other end, past all the 5* hotels, their beach & water sucked, the rocks & weeds were unreal, the beaches were empty everyone was sitting by the pools. We go to Cancun for the beach & water, if I wanted to swim in a pool I could do that at home. Your vacation is what you make it, for us we will stick to Dos Playas. Ok, from reading the below reviews, if i had booked my holiday i would be completely gutted!! But i have just got back from 8 nights at dos playa as yes it is a basic hotel, (is only 3* rating so why expect anything higher?!) but room is kept spotlessly clean, air con works very well, lovely shower and bathroom, how much time would you spend in your room when you have the beaches outside anyway!

The staff were sooo lovely, especially the waiters, always happy to get drinks, i never had to tip anyone by the bar to get served, they were more than happy to serve us and always had all the drinks we wanted. Food is a good selection daily- and im a fussy eater but was plenty to choose from, theres even chips and burgers during the day if you want.

Location is excellent!!! right on the beach which is fab- sea is aqua blue and sand is white its like a dream!!! Dos playas really did seem like the best location as other of the higher star hotels had no beach just mainly pool area!

Overall had a fantastic holiday!
