Apr 28, 2009 | Trip type: Friends getaway

Well where do i start ....I stayed at the Dos Playas in Apr 2008 4 2 weeks with 3 of my friends. Personally i would never stay here again even if you paid me.
When we first arrived didnt think it was to bad...i was wrong.
1st impressions of room seemed nice and was clean so couldnt really complain...although think through out the 2 weeks it was cleaned about 4 times and they never gave us enough towels.
Later on we also realised that the balcony door did not lock and there was a couple lights in the room that didnt work. we also kept having problems with our door key as it would either never lock or never open are door..this meant everytime it would happen someone would have to go down to the reception for them to re programme it..(we later found out that if the key didnt work it meant someone had been in the room with the master key which was rather strange)
Staff on the hole where miserable and not very helpful..Although i will say Marco (the entertainment guy) was brillant!!
Food was discusting huge dissapointment after the 1st day of eating there i had a really bad belly (both ends) for 3 days which meant i was very reluctent to eat much from there at all..I mainly stuck to the omelletes for breakfast as they were made fresh infront of you.

Half way through the holiday i then had my mobile phone and digital camera stolen from out of my room.("why didnt u put it in the safe i hear you say") Well the saftey deposit box's are the size of a brick down in reception and they only give you one..so what with there being 4 of us we could only fit our passports travel documents and money in there. There was no sign of forced entry so it meant it had to be someone with a key..when i went down to reception to tell them what had happend they were not very helpful at all. It was a kinda of its not our problem attitude which was so frustrating. This then made all of us extremely scared specially because on the same night one of the security guards followed my friend to our room and wouldnt go away from outside it. The next day we reported it to the police who didnt speak much english at all. luckily my friend spoke a bit of spainish so was able to say what happend.

Overall i couldnt wait to get home..the weather and the beach were lovely couldnt ask for nicer but this was probably the best thing about the holiday and that is saying alot for me as im not the fussy type. Yes you do get what you pay for but this was just something else...i have been to a few low budget places and never ever experianced what i did here.

first of all i should have known better than to listen to some of the bad reviews on this resort as everyone has their own opinion on a place when traveling.as for me and my husband we just try to go with what ever happens and to not take anything too serious.upon seeing our room we were both pleasantly surprised as we had a side view of the beach with the palm trees swaying in the breeze each day.room was made up nice each day and done very well.food at buffet was always fresh and ready to eat upon arrival and the wait staff goes out of their way to make you happy.fidell and armando are sooo nice! bar by the kids pool is awesome and very relaxing.we were here april 17,18,19 and came home the 20th.out of 3 nights only saturday was so noisy we couldnt stand it but it didnt take away from the resort itself.the grounds are well kept and its small enough that people remember you after only one day.there is a small flea market around the corner from the hotel that have some nice handi crafts and nice souveniers.honestly i feared the worst and came away with a great stay at a very nice hotel.dont hesitate if you want a small hotel, dont mind the one buffet, and dont mind the fact that the people will go out of their way to get you what ever you want to make your stay enjoyable!

I stayed here for 1 week mar 24th till apr 1 with my girlfriend ,met lots of happy people some ,sure there was only one buffet ,and one alacarte which i didnt even eat I was happy enough with the buffet . It is not a super resort if you want a five star go there ,whiners! they had pork ,chicken, steak ,and even spareribs one night .Ya there is only one bar at night who cares how many do u need there is lots of beer and tequila the people are great happy nice ,the beach was perfect ,location was awesome .I had a car and we still took the bus cause it was so easy and cheap .I would go back in a sec and I am already looking,If u are goin have fun maybe I'll see u there

It was better than expected for the price however most nights there was a lot of noise with people coming home from the clubs and pubs. The service is good and the people were friendly however I was with my boyfriend and there were lots of lads and it didn't feel very relaxed.
More of a singles holiday.
It is however right next to a lush white beach that doesn't get too busy during the week.

If you want a laid-back budget holiday that meets all of your basic needs, this is the place....we were pleasantly surprised that all aspects of this property met or exceeded our expectations. Don't come here if you want to spend three-star money and expect five-star service/accommodation...you'll only end up being one of the negative reviewers of this hotel!
