I stayed 4 nights at this hotel with my wife and my 1yr and 3 months old son since Nov 23th to Nov 27th, I chose the European plan (only room), since i'd prefer to go out for lunch, so I cannot tell you anything about food,

The room was always clean and all the people in the hotel were very friendly. They put a cradle in our room.

The jacuzzi was very comfortable, my baby loved it the temperature was perfect for the windy days.

The beach is not so nice as the other ones since the hotel is in a part where the waves are very calm and the waves looks like lake and this bring on some kind of grass in the water because of absence of flow, but the hotels in the same beach are much more expensive and have the same beach, so there was no problem for me.

Anyway we spent some nice days and the best part is the price.

I got the room for less than 100 USD, I consider a very fair rate.

The next time I'll stay at Playa del Carmen, its beaches are beautiful, better than Cancun, since the beaches in Cancun were impacted by hurricane Vilma and they lost a lot of sand

renovation so thomas cook transfered me to this place
i would not reccomend this to anyone the food must be

Well i have to write this reveiw about the Aquamarina..as it seems to have quite a few bad ones and yet again i want to give it some good press!!!
I stayed at the Aquamarina for nearly a month and will definately be going again! I travelled alone,am in my late 20's and was quite nervous about this fact until i got there! The staff are so so awesome and i can't praise them enough! They are friendly and courteous and definately put us English workers to shame! The entertainment staff are the best and work so so hard! I met so many people from all over the world and can honestly say i have made friends for life! Unlike the bigger more expensive hotels..the Aquamarina has a fun friendly and welcoming atmosphere and this is helped by the the fact there is only 1 bar...because everybody congregates in the same place of an evening and this gives you chance to meet your fellow holiday makers...and make some great friends!
I will be returning again in January...alone..and want everyone who reads this to please lease NOT get out off by the lame reviews on this hotel..its clean..friendly...good food and in a great spot! I cannot praise it highly enough!!

There have been a few bad reviews about this place that made me rather concerned before arriving and, as a group of young males in our 20's all we wanted was a stress free, awesome holiday in Cancun.However, All those doubts were banished after 5 minutes within arrival.

We arrived at the hotel mid afternoon after a tiring flight and 1st were put into a room that could only accomodate 2, being there 3 of us this was a major concern but after a quick chat with reception, we were upgraded free of charge to a suite, right next to the pool. No hassle and no questions asked!!

highlight of the week - STAFF!!!!! these guys, whether it be the bar staff, activities staff, cleaners etc, work thereselves into the ground, (put UK workers to shame) they couldnt do enough for you and we were more than willing to tip them generously as the week progressed. Special mention to Jose behind the bar who made my 26th Birthday memorable (or not so) with a bottle of tequilla.
everyone was on hand for you and even at night after the entertainment in the hotel had finished they were accompanying us to the clubs and bars of downtown Cancun where we were treated as close to celebrity status as it could get, could go on forever about Coco Bongo's, Senor Frogs etc, but anyone who has been will know exactly what im going about.

It wasnt just for single guys and girls either, the majority of hotel residents were either couples or families but this didnt hinder us at all and if you wanted out of the hotel into downtown Cancun or further a field, the buses are the way forward, 6 pesos will literally take you anywhere.

we will be back and apparently it gets even better in spring break. enjoy!!!
