If you're willing to stay in the downtown area, instead of on the hotel strip where all the beaches are, this is a decent, comfortable hotel. If you want to use the beach they have an arrangement with a beach club/restaurant and facilities there are quite nice. You can easily take public transportation (recommended over driving--no place to park). Downtown Cancun really isn't too bad for a city with no real history (it was created by the government when they built Cancun). There are plenty of good places to eat and occasional entertainment in the central plaza. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, and there is a modest breakfast buffet. Hotel also has a bar in the lobby.
