I took my girl scout troop (13 girls - sixteen, seventeen and eighteen year olds) along with some family and friends (28 people total) to Cancun the first week of June, 2009. We had booked several side trips through AquaWorld and I was worried, after reading some of the reviews. I am happy to report that AquaWorld did a fantastic job with all of our tours. It was great having the trips booked and paid for in advance. Made things very easy with such a large group.
First tour we booked was the Jungle Tour. I had 18 people go on this trip. I was concerned about taking all the girls out in the ocean on waverunners but there was no need to worry. Everyone did just fine and really loved riding them. I even enjoyed the ride and I'm a big chicken! I had expressed my concerns to AquaWorld (by email before our trip) after reading some bad reviews about people 'getting lost' and 'falling off'. They assured me that they would take care of us. We had 2 guides go with us. One in the front; the other in the back to make sure we all did okay. Snorkeling was good too. We didn't really get to see too much ... a few colorful fish and lots of coral, but it was still a lot of fun. One of the grandmothers in our group had some trouble snorkeling. Our guide pulled her around on a life ring and would tell her when to look in the water. The guide told me the ride back would be rougher and I asked him to slow down. They did and we all made it just fine. I think this was the girls' favorite.
22 of us went on the SkyRider. They put us in 2 boats. No complaints at all. Very beautiful. Long ride. Much, much nicer than the parasailing I did in Florida last year. No comparison.
18 people went on the Cancun Queen Dinner Cruise and all reported having a really great time (I did not take this trip). Tourism was down so the boat was only 1/2 full which meant they got a lot of special treatment. Said the games and dancing were a lot of fun! Said the food was satisfactory, about the same as what we had at our resort (Dreams Resort).
5 of us went on the Subsee Explorer. My only comment about this is that you'd better not get seasick. The sub rocked quite a bit. Didn't sit too well with some of us. But we got to see lots of coral, fish and turtles.
My last group of 5 people went to Isla Mujeres. They loved their day there. Next trip to Cancun, I will give this one a try.
They took photos to sell of everything we did, but they were reasonably priced ($10) and they didn't push us to buy them. They did ask for tips or had tip boxes, but no one pushed us to give them a tip.
Personally I would recommend AquaWorld and I will use them again on my next trip to Cancun. I have no complaints whatsoever about their services.
