We just got back from a weeks stay at Le Meridien. As SPG members we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite with two balconies. The front desk manager was very helpful and polite. The pool attendant, Juan, was always there to put towels on chairs and in cabanas. He also came around with shots of smoothies, fresh cut fruit, and cold towels during the day. The snack bar at the pool had delicious food(especially the quesadillas) and very attentive waiters. The beach is small but the waves are great fun. The three pools are beautiful and the construction next door does not shade any part of the pool area(as some other reviewers mentioned) at any time of the day.
The maids came around twice daily to clean the rooms, give fresh towels, replenish toiletries, and in the evenings for turn down service.
The spa is state of the art (although the cooler could be turned up a little more).
We went snorkeling with "Reef Experience" booked for us by the hotel travel agent, Hugo, who was very helpful. Our party of five were the only ones on the snorkeling tour. We were picked up at the hotel in a van. They took us to Puerto Morelos to board a small boat and we went to two different snorkeling spots on the reef. Each time we were in the water for about 50 minutes. The guides were great. They pointed out lobsters, sting rays, and other sea creatures that may have been hiding. They then took us to a little beachside hotel where we were given a buffet lunch with drinks (all included in the $65 price). We returned back to our hotel around 5 pm.
Over all I would highly recommend Le Meridien and can't wait to go back. This was my fourth time in Cancun and the first time I have stayed at this hotel. On my other trips I had stayed at Fiesta Americana Coral Beach. From now on I will only stay at Le Meridien.

They Greeted Us With Mango Frozen Drinks & Towels to Wash Our Hands.
The Hotel Is Located In A Quiet Area Away From The Downtown Hustle & Bustle.
Our Main Goal Was To Relax (Not Party)...This Hotel Had Everything To Do Just That.
We Enjoyed Laying By the Pool, Swimming in The Ocean, Enjoying Amazing Meals, and The Staff were The Most Polite & Respectful People We Have Ever Met. We Enjoyed Conversations With Them & They Made Us Feel As If We Were The Only Guests There.
The Hotel Is The Most Beautiful Hotel We Have Ever Stayed In...From The Marble Floors, To The Plush Beds, Huge Bathroom, Great Amenities & Delicious Food.
I have seen in other reviews that people were surprised of an "Amenity Tax". It is clearly stated on your reservation & people need to learn to read the fine print! It is worth every penny to stay in this place...it is truly a Dream.

Wonderful hotel, beautiful room, excellent facilities. Most importantly a very friendly staff. Pure luxury with no false pretenses.

you walk into the lobby and check in and it's nice, nothing unusual for a 4 star hotel. alot of marble. the lobby bar is a great place to hang out after you've had too much sun all day. the restaurant situation is...okay. more for convenience than pleasure. i never tried their room service. the pool area is lovely, not completely distinguished from other properties in zona hotelera but they cascade from one to another and it's nice. the poolside bar is quick and attentive. perhaps it's just that the hotel is on a choppy stretch of beach that's not quite swimmable, or it just might be a bland place to stay. the ritz carlton is right next door and it might be nicer but who cares you come to cancun for the ocean and on this stretch it's lame. further north on bajia de mujeres (such as the fiesta americana grand coral beach) you'll find better water conditions. better yet- an island off the coast of the peninsula called "isla mujeres", was really the highlight of our trip stayed at a little hotel called na balam. beach took my breath away literally looked like a corona commercial. cancun itself is commercialized & a bit seedy. =\
