Just got back from Le Meridien. FABULOUS hotel. My husband and I have stayed at Bellagio Las Vegas, W NY, etc. This hotel ranks on that level.
Rooms
We originally had a regular room on the Royal Club level with two double beds (we took the two dbl beds because of the balcony) the room was very nice with a side view of ocean, great view of pool. The beds were small so after the first night, we upgraded to a suite for only a couple of hundred dollars for the next three days. the suite was FANTASTIC. Two full bathrooms, two balconies, living room, turndown service, huge king bed, bar area. It was great. The only thing we didn't like were the pillows. The pillows at the Bellagio are still the best! Robes, slippers, soft towels ALL made this a great stay.
Pool/Beach
VERY quite area with 3 pools all overlooking the ocean. We didn't spend too much time at the pool, but when we did the pool was immaculate, quiet, and had three different temperatures.
Beach was fantastic. LOTS of chairs/umbrellas, but the first day we thought many of them were taken because of towels on chairs. Apparently, the staff puts towels on every chair, so if you don't see flip flops, drinks, etc. The chair is probably free.
A FEW vendors walked by but NONE were intrusive at all.
Club level
VERY nice staff. The level had a nice spread for breakfast (cereal, yogurt, fruit, danish, muffins, coffee, tea.) Drinks/appetizers in the afternoon varied by day, but it was from 5-7 and most of the time, they let everyone stay until well after 7pm (still serving drinks) Although the area was small, we always got a table! The concierge there (Laura) was fantastic. She got us dinner reservations, confirmed out transfers to the airport, and always had a smile on her face. EVERYONE in this area greeted us by name, and we were impressed since our name is always mispronounced by everyone else, by not here.
Food
We ate at Aioli for lunch. I didn't care for my pasta dish, but my husband LOVED his shrimp and Linguini. The pool cafe (St. Trop) had GREAT fajitas, and fun drinks. All were priced about the same as NY prices.
Overall
We would DEFINITELY stay here again. Very nice/accomodating staff.
One night we even got to release sea turtles into the ocean, and the day that it was cloudy they were showing movies. There was a great spa/gym that my husband used (free for club royal guests), and we bought some great cigars from the guy in the lobby hand rolling them. Definitely invest in the extra $$ for the club royal level, you can have some drinks in the afternoon before dinner and a great breakfast.
