Just got back from Le Meridien. FABULOUS hotel. My husband and I have stayed at Bellagio Las Vegas, W NY, etc. This hotel ranks on that level.
Rooms
We originally had a regular room on the Royal Club level with two double beds (we took the two dbl beds because of the balcony) the room was very nice with a side view of ocean, great view of pool. The beds were small so after the first night, we upgraded to a suite for only a couple of hundred dollars for the next three days. the suite was FANTASTIC. Two full bathrooms, two balconies, living room, turndown service, huge king bed, bar area. It was great. The only thing we didn't like were the pillows. The pillows at the Bellagio are still the best! Robes, slippers, soft towels ALL made this a great stay.
Pool/Beach
VERY quite area with 3 pools all overlooking the ocean. We didn't spend too much time at the pool, but when we did the pool was immaculate, quiet, and had three different temperatures.
Beach was fantastic. LOTS of chairs/umbrellas, but the first day we thought many of them were taken because of towels on chairs. Apparently, the staff puts towels on every chair, so if you don't see flip flops, drinks, etc. The chair is probably free.
A FEW vendors walked by but NONE were intrusive at all.
Club level
VERY nice staff. The level had a nice spread for breakfast (cereal, yogurt, fruit, danish, muffins, coffee, tea.) Drinks/appetizers in the afternoon varied by day, but it was from 5-7 and most of the time, they let everyone stay until well after 7pm (still serving drinks) Although the area was small, we always got a table! The concierge there (Laura) was fantastic. She got us dinner reservations, confirmed out transfers to the airport, and always had a smile on her face. EVERYONE in this area greeted us by name, and we were impressed since our name is always mispronounced by everyone else, by not here.
Food
We ate at Aioli for lunch. I didn't care for my pasta dish, but my husband LOVED his shrimp and Linguini. The pool cafe (St. Trop) had GREAT fajitas, and fun drinks. All were priced about the same as NY prices.
Overall
We would DEFINITELY stay here again. Very nice/accomodating staff.
One night we even got to release sea turtles into the ocean, and the day that it was cloudy they were showing movies. There was a great spa/gym that my husband used (free for club royal guests), and we bought some great cigars from the guy in the lobby hand rolling them. Definitely invest in the extra $$ for the club royal level, you can have some drinks in the afternoon before dinner and a great breakfast.

We stayed at Le Meridien Hotel. The best hotel I ever been the attention in this situation was very profesional, organized, and kind. They had every thing ready for their guests, in the conference rooms when we had to evacuate, and they gave us good food. There were schedules for the people to eat, so it made of this a real experience in this situation very recomendable. Thank you Le Meridien you are the best. For sure I will come back never seen such attention in a hotel.

Ok, so I've probably been researching my honeymoon for well over a year and because my new wife and I went to Cancun on our first vacation together in college we had such a good time we would go back. Last time we stayed at the Westin Regina which is Awsome!, but for this trip we wanted to stay more in the central part of the hotel strip. So because they have a Le Meridien in Mineapolis, i knew it was an excellent hotel. But i was alittle skepitcal with all the so so reviews so here is my experience. I booked my trip through orbitz for 5 nights, we flew Sun country and upgraded to first class for 75 bucks a piece (I will always fly sun country). So anyway i booked my vacation for a deluxe room and figured after reading all the reviews i'd upgrade to a club level room even though it was like 280.00 extra, what the heck, it was my honeymoon. Best investment ever. First off, I went to the front desk and they escorted me to the sixth level and we sat down with Georgina, who is an absolute wonderful conceriege. She gave us drinks and showed us to our room with absolutely no trouble what so ever. It was funny because when I went to the lobby to exchange money later a lady was freaking out because she said she booked a superior room for like 180 which was an internet special. The guy at the front desk asked her if she printed it out and she didn't. Biggest thing i can say is to PRINT EVERYTHING that states what you paid and what room you are supposed to have. I upgraded to the club level through emails and printed all of them. ANyway, our room was awsome, just like all the reviews online. Except room was very cool and nice and bed was just fine. At the club level you snack on chips, salsa, guacomole, little cracker things with little cheeses, tacitos, they had fish a few nights, and as many drinks as you want. BAsically we had dinner every night and it filled us up and we drank enough to pay for our 25 dollar a person extra charge, but that includes breakfast as well, which was GREAT. We had fruit, cereal, cheeses, pastry's, juice, coffee, it was perfect. The pool did have quite a few kids but i think that was because it was mexico's spring break or summer break so there were a lot of mexican families, but it wasn't that bad. Pools, excercise, tennis courts, and amenities were awsome. Also, if you don't want any suprises on your bill, simply go up to the front desk and ask to get a copy of you bill thus far. And, it will show you what you have billed to your room so far. It was that easy, no suprises. Also, if you head down to the entrance of le meridien and take a right there is a little convenient store a block down the road on your left hand side that sells everything from pop to snacks to sunscreen for dirt cheap, also everyday for lunch we ate here because they have .80 tacos that are SOOOO good. we ate lunch for like 4 dollars which includes 4 tacos, two pops, chips, and desert. It was like 15 dollars for some nachos at the hotel restaurant. Anyway, the bus line is kinda a hike which sucks, but this hotel and the way they treated you was awsome, I would defenitly go back. Just make sure you take every precaution to make sure you get what you paid for. The reviews helped a lot. Oh Yeah, the cozumel snorkeling thing sucked. I would of rather stayed at the hotel and relaxed by the pool and ocean.

My friends and I recently stayed at the Le Meridien for a 5 day/4 night vacation. The purpose was to celebrate a close friend's 30th birthday. It would be an understatement to say that the hotel was 'nice'. It is a very beautiful hotel. Its just the right size, not like the overly enormous ones that include the larger crowds, and the Mexican art and European design blend perfectly. The rooms are very nice, with marble floors and elegant decor. What we most enjoyed about our trip was the generosity and genuine good nature of the staff. Most were eager to assist us in any way possible and went the extra mile to make sure my friends and I had an especially enjoyable time while in Cancun. We were upgraded from a superior room to a suite without even asking, and reassured that the other room we purchased would connect to it. Scheduling extracurricular activites was facilitated easily by hotel staff, and the service throughout was impeccable! We felt this generosity not only by staff from the hotel but local people in the Cancun area in general. We will definitely go back, and without a doubt stay at the Le Meridien!

I totally agree with the previous review. This was our third stay at LeMeriden in Cancun. We love this hotel. We could not believe our "luck" with Hurricane Emily, but, I cannot say enough about the staff. They did everything in their power to accomodate us and keep everyone happy, during this unpredictable time. Patrons stayed in good humor and tried to make the best of the situation. We got to know the hotel guests and met many nice people from all over. I have never seen employees work so hard - before, during and after the hurricane, to secure the property and keep us safe. Thank you, LeMeridien!! We will definitely be back - even during hurricane season!!!
